Don't know if this is an Um'rikkan thing  but you seldom hear of this sort of activity all by your lonesome in the U.K. (Haven't done a survey, like  ... but I'm sure it's definitely not common).
Not saying it's a bad thing though. I've often wanted to go to the pictures by myself coz there's plenty of releases that my mates just wouldn't want to see that I really do, like foreign features for example..... but I just wait for them to come out on DVD/Video, for the fear of being laughed at by the folks in the ticket booth at my local multiplex

I love going to serious movies by myself.
I hate chick flicks of anykind, so it doesn't matter if I have company on that. But I prefer company when it's a comedy. | |
