Let's Try This Again - Happy Pride Weekend! To all my Org GLBT (are there any T here?) friends and allies and especially those here in the Twin Cities...happy pride! It's not a thread to discuss the politics of the event, but one to celebrate the community; what is has become, and what it has the power and potential to be. To those heading to the park today, have lots of fun. I'll be working.
I just read that Thelma Houston will be at the block party tomorrow.

At least you have an excuse. I'm just not feeling social lately. And with the heat and sun and my delicate skin, spending hours in the park doesn't sound like too much fun either. As for the parties - I got awfully turned off at a Pride party I went to last year that devolved into debauchery in a hot tub right before my eyes. That was something a sweet, innocent girl like me shouldn't have to see.  |

For our friends that are attending, once any of us girls see a penis or a bottom we are to walk to our nearest 'mo and whisper "vagina" as that will instantly sober them up. They will then round up the rest of our friends and quickly make an exit from said party. Its a grand plan, but it's still just not in my heart to attend. |

you know, I think that some publication must've posted bad info about the Block party cos you are one of many who have mentioned it being tonite... The 'official' block party (with Amber, Thelma Houston and Kim English) is actually tomorrow from 5-10 in the Saloon parking lot. that being said...we should plan for the parade!  | |

whoop whoop i'm sooooo Proud.
Long Beach Pride down Los Angeles Pride down San Diego left to go!!!!! after that i'm done with anything Pride related for a year, and i do it all again. i'm a glutton for punishment. LOL like i even have to say that. oh and i'm proud everyday working at the largest gay weekly newspaper in SoCal.
