That's right, Members Only jackets. I had one. I had a few actually. I was a member. I don't remember ever paying any membership fees or anything and I kept waiting for an meeting of members to be announced but it never happened. But I had the jacket. I was cool.

Of course, the fundamental flaw with the concept of Members Only jackets is that the jackets became really popular, therefore everyone was wearing them. If everyone was wearing them then that meant that everybody was in the club. And if everybody was in the club, then what was the point of being a member? Ooh, I'm in the members only club with...well every freaking one else.

Still, they were pretty snazzy jackets, though.

That was supposed to be "Salute to 80's Threads" not "Salute to 80's Thread". It is completely different in context. Corrections will be made in the title for Part 2, if there ever is one.

Okay maybe I was the only member in the club. Maybe I will create "Only Member" jackets for that real exclusive feel. It's a jacket and it's got "Only Member" sewed in the right corner. It could be a goldmine.

What is the record of number of posts someone put int their own thread without anyone else posting? Maybe I'll try to set that record today.

Now I am actually wondering if the makers of Member's Only jackets ever got the idea to create a condom. You know, with a little "Member's Only" insignia on the side. If you think about it, it makes sense.

I cannot remember all my colors but suffice it to say they were probably not the cool colors. I remember wearing a lot of camoflauge stuff even though I had no particular interest being in the military.

This very well may be the least exciting thread I have ever been a part of. I'm truly sorry.
