Raise your hand if you feel really lucky to have your job

wave

First of all, I work from home.
I have a cute little office in my basement. Since it's below ground it stays really cool. I have everything I need to be efficient and productive (with the exception of this blasted ORG obsession.)
I basically talk on the phone most of the day and am entrusted with authority to spend the company's money as I see fit.
I live (and work) in New Hampshire, but make BOSTON $$$ because my company is based there.
If I want to run to the gym, or the beach, or my kids' school, or go to breakfast with my girls, I just go. If I don't get to everything I wanted to on my desk, I work a little longer. No big deal.
My boss trusts me and doesn't check up on me.
I have full benefits and plenty of freedom/flexibility.

Believe me, I know how lucky I am.

Does anyone else really love and appreciate their job?

Yes, I do. It is a unique position and I have complete freedom to make my day as I wish. My only focus (or responsibility)... to create a positive memory for pediactric children while they are in the hospital.

Tramatic as it may be (whether it is in Peds, ICU or the Oncology Unit)... my focus (joy) comes from replacing all that is unpleasant/fearful with something positively lasting. I do. heart

I have 100 stories (+) to share a day about the good that comes.

Teacher wages... yet I feel thoroughly rich, unlike many who drown in their own miseries... in a big house, nice car... well you know.

i absolutely ADORE my job nod

you may ask what i get paid, and maybe you wouldnt understand if i told you my payment was hugs, kisses, and i love you's.....

you may ask where i work, and i would answer that i work everywhere....

you may ask what i do, and i would say i do many different things, each day filled with new and exciting tasks nod

you may ask about my schedual, and i will tell you that i work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.... im on call at every hour, every day... i have no 'holidays' that i get off....

you may ask if i go to work everyday with a smile, and i will say... maybe not going into my day, but i always have something to smile about when its over...

you may ask if i get promotions.... i will tell you that i am already the queen of my castle.

im a momma for a living... i take it very seriously, and i have given my life to my babies and their wellbeing.... sure, the pay (money wise) isnt the best lol BUT the rewards are more than i could ever begin to explain, and i wouldnt leave my 'job' here for the world !
One of the best days of my life... http://prince.org/msg/100/291111

that is truly beautiful touched ...honestly.

you have one of the most difficult, challenging yet rewarding jobs. i sincerely believe it is one of the most important jobs in the world...being a mother.

i don't particularly enjoy my job but the benefits and pay are incredible and above and beyond what someone with my education should get... especially in my area (which i never plan to leave). i am satisfied.

Sounds like you've got a great job there, and yes, you are very lucky. It would be nice to have a job where you could work from home and not have a boss standing over your shoulder, giving you grief when something was not done (which has happened to me a few times already). Gotta love that setup, for me, it would be ideal. woot!
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

hug I know you do your job very well, and that your kids are very grateful for all that you do for them. Being a parent is the hardest job in the world that anybody could have.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
