Your Theory on a 18 Year Old Female That Gets

Your Theory on a Dumb 18 Year Old Female that gets in a car with 3 hard heads (males) in another country and leave with them at 1:30am and then turn up missing??? I'm talking about the American girl missing in Aruba. I mean this is some real lack of adult supervision to let a 18 year old female leave with 3 males out of nightclub at that time in the morning. What a shame!!! And were was her classmates??? None of them was looking out for each other???

Possible Senarios: Maybe they left the nightclub and took her to go get something to eat and had conversation because the music was too loud in the nightclub. Or they probably ran a train on her and left her.

umm...adult supervision? on an 18 year old?

This can happen to anyone, at any age.

CNN had an article, "her friends saw her get in a car with 3 male locals", I guess they just idle watched her leave and didnt try to stop her and thought shes going to get her groove on and didn't worry about her. Looks like her last groove.

It's hard to so what they should have done though. See, if she clearly wasn't being herself due to drugs/alcohol it's easy to say they should have stepped in, but maybe she's just a straight up freak and has a habit of doing those kind of wild things. Who knows. shrug

Thats whats good about posting here, the date and time is recorded. Now tonight Nancy Grace of CNN, a former prosecutor, said tonight there is a large number of statistics that show if a female becomes raped and/or murdered a lot of times comes back to the person that last had sex with them!

Now on Friday, I asked the question above did the police asks those males did they "rock the nation", translated to having sex. Yet those 3 are walking around free. When in fact Nancy said tonight one told the police that they went to the beach at 1:30-2:00am in the morning and "had some fun". What does this "had some fun" mean at that time in the morning????

Furthermore, interesting how the 3 white males come from rich influential families yet those who are being detained are poor blacks. When in fact one of the black males girlfriends said one of the accused was at a concert with her that night when all this went down. Also one of the white males would not give a written or oral statement like the other 2 white males - Strange.

Add it all up and something is sure fishy....

The only reason that the media cares so much about this is because she's blonde and pretty. It's the Jessica Lynch syndrome.

Boy, do I worry when my kids are old enough to go on Spring Break. So much for chaperones, eh?

The only thing I have to add to this is that I heard on the radio, earlier in the week, that the hotel that they were staying at does have video surveillance and that they checked the tapes and never saw this girl return to the hotel, as the three guys had orginially said.

Personally, I don't think they'll find her alive.

I heard on the radio this morning that the three men have been arrested and a lot of their belongings have been impounded including the car she was in.

Yeah, it was stupid for this to happen, but eighteen year olds still feel they are impervious to this kind of danger." It couldn't happen to me" syndrome.

The trip was not sponsored by the school, though. In my high school there was a "senior trip" (Disneyland) that was not school sponsored and those who did ditch school to attend got in big trouble.

I know this is awful for her parents... but they should have thought twice about letting her go in the first place. I know she is 18 and technically an adult, but parents do have some influence over their childrens' lives, even at that age.

I guess they decided to do something about this. Which they should have done last week. And it seems like a long time past before they announced she was missing, anything could happen to her by then.

3 more arrested in Aruba missing-teen case
Prosecutor: Latest suspects last seen with teen at nightclub
Thursday, June 9, 2005 Posted: 7:56 AM EDT (1156 GMT)

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (CNN) -- Three more suspects have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of an 18-year-old Alabama student in Aruba, bringing to five the number of men in custody, a prosecutor said Thursday.

The three men just arrested were the last people seen with Natalee Holloway as she left the Oranjestad nightclub Carlos 'N Charlie's about 1:30 a.m. May 30, according to the chief prosecutor.

Searches were under way of the suspects' homes Thursday, the prosecutor said.

On Wednesday, an Aruban judge ruled there was enough evidence to continue holding two others, Micky John, 30, and Abraham Jones, 28, for another eight days to allow for more evidence gathering.

Holloway, from the Birmingham, Alabama, suburb of Mountain Brook, was in Aruba with about 100 classmates and parent chaperones to celebrate high school graduation.

Acting on a tip, police on Sunday arrested Jones and John in the oil-refining town of San Nicolas. Jones' defense attorney, Chris Lejuez, said Wednesday that his client was accused of murder and capital kidnapping.

"Both of them are very concerned," Lejuez told CNN's "Larry King Live." "They are nervous. They know they are being suspected of something very heavy, very serious, but they are confident, both of them. And they have shown that confidence to me, that they very categorically deny being involved in this case."

The men worked at the Hotel Allegro, in Oranjestad near the Holiday Inn where Holloway was staying.

Lejuez said that neither man was working the night Holloway vanished. He said the men have no previous criminal history.

"They have both denied very categorically knowing Natalee Holloway or having any contact with her," he said. "All they know about her is what they read and saw in the paper."

Jones' girlfriend, Cynthia De Graf, said outside the courthouse that he is innocent. She and Jones were out partying together on the night the Alabama teenager disappeared, then returned home together, she said. Jones was sick later that night, she said, but arrived at work in time for his 7 a.m. shift the following day.

Prosecution spokesman Vivian van der Biezen said Tuesday authorities have a "reasonable suspicion" the men were involved in Holloway's disappearance, but he declined to elaborate on evidence gathered in the investigation or confirm what charges could be filed against the men.

Holloway's stepfather, George "Jug" Twitty, said he had not heard about any possible charges from authorities. "I do believe Natalee is alive," he said. "And every day that goes by gives us even more hope that Natalee is alive.

"We're trying to be strong," he said Wednesday. "It's been incredibly tough. This is a difficult situation that I hope no other mother or father has to ever experience. Basically, we've said our prayers. We pray together to try to stay strong and get through this ordeal."

Twitty said authorities have been forthcoming with Holloway's relatives. "It's just that the laws in Aruba are different, and the way they do their investigations is totally different than they do in the United States. It's difficult, it's frustrating, but on the other hand I do feel like they're doing everything they can do to try to find Natalee."

Lejuez said he has not seen any forensic evidence. What he has seen, he said, includes statements from "certain witnesses who have seen certain people" who might be the two men. But none of those witnesses, he said, confirmed seeing Holloway with the men.

Lejuez said he expected prosecutors to request that the two be detained for another eight days. Van der Biezen said Tuesday prosecutors would not take that step if the evidence against the men was purely circumstantial.

Police have received more than 200 tips regarding Holloway's disappearance, and a $55,000 reward has been offered for information leading to her whereabouts.

Twitty and Holloway's mother, Beth Holloway Twitty, have vowed they are not leaving Aruba without her.

"The time doesn't matter," Twitty said Wednesday. "We're going to find her."

The island is not that big, so unless she's being held captive I doubt she's alive. I bet she was killed that very same night she disappeared.

in light of the fact that this young woman may very well be dead, i think pointing fingers at her and calling her naive and stupid is inappropriate. i did a lot of stupid things at 18/19/20 - hell, at 39 - i'd like to think that that doesn't make me deserving of a fate like that.

if you want to express anger at this situation, the perpetrators would be a good place to start...

It wasn't spring break. It was one of those senior trips you go on after or right before you graduate. You have to be 18 to go and it is not sponsored by the school and there are no chaperones really. You're taking responsibility for yourself and you are advised to always travel in 2's

agreed. but not having common sense does not mean you "had it coming", especially in a case like that one.

we now know that she was killed, and it's a time for mourning and a time for the legal process to proceed, not for blaming the victim. peace

True, it wasn't spring break. Senior trip, or spring break, I'll still worry when my kids reach that age to go on a trip like that without my supervision! Most kids/young adults, at that age look at these trips as the final horrah, before coming back to focus on their life before them, and much of their common sense goes out the window. That worries me.

I read and heard that this senior trip did have 40 chaperones that went along, that's why my comment about so much for them. I could be wrong.

Hopefully they'll find her either way. I can't imagine losing a loved one and being in limbo of not knowing whether they are alive or dead.

Yes, you have influence over their lives, but if 40 chaperones really did attend this trip, which I don't know if I heard/read right or not now, I'd have probably allowed one of my kids to go.
