Why are insults no longer insults?

You hear it all the time now. "I'm the baddest bitch!" "I'm the toughest son of a bitch around here!" "He's a baaaaad motherfucker!" People call themselves these things as if it's a good thing. Do you still consider them insults? hmm

It's not words. It's context and intent.

If you have to keep explaining that you're not insulting people, it's probably because you are.

ok. But regardless of the intention of the word....the word itself should be an insult. Like women who go around sayin' "I'm one sexy bitch", but when called a "stupid bitch" by another girl....all hell breaks loose. I'll never understand that.

I agree.

Just on the other AsianBoi Un-Appreciation thread, 2the9s has been calling me a bitch--but I know it's just his way of expressing his love for me. Probably the sweetest thing he's said to anyone all day. smile

Wrong! That's what leads to curse-jars and dumb shit like that. disbelief

curse jars....falloff Maybe it's just my semi-feminist ways creeping in, but I'd never consider myself a "bitch" in a positive light. Trust me when I call someone a bitch....it is not intended to be out of love. giggle
