If you had nine lives... Imagine that you had nine lives. Each life would last around eighty years and you would stay the same age throughout all of them.
1) Which age would you pick? 2) Would you dedicate a few of your lives to a certain activity (for example use one for charitable work, one for partying etc) or would there be an even mix in all of them? 3) Would you do fun, risky things that you might not have done otherwise (drugs, space travel, mountain climbing without rope, unprotected casual sex) or would you be as careful - or not careful - as you are in your current life? 4) If you would lose a leg in an accident, would you commit suicide and start the next life (where you would be healthy again)? What about if you went blind? 5) Do you think you would get bored after a few lifetimes? If so, when? And what would you do then? | |

One life for each thing. 3) Would you do fun, risky things that you might not have done otherwise (drugs, space travel, mountain climbing without rope, unprotected casual sex) or would you be as careful - or not careful - as you are in your current life? I would be reckless as all hell until life number 7 then I'd start to calm the fuck down. 
4) If you would lose a leg in an accident, would you commit suicide and start the next life (where you would be healthy again)? What about if you went blind? Nope I'd ride it out. Every experience has it's value... and if I said yes then wouldn't it be like saying anyone with a disability would be better off dead? 
5) Do you think you would get bored after a few lifetimes? If so, when? And what would you do then? I'd never get bored. In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

I would live each one very differently, I do think I would get bored though. Would I be living them concurrently or one after the other? I'd prefer to live parallel lives, so I could jump from one to the other. | |

I think everybody should make their own choice. For example, if someone who is handicapped and suffering greatly every day would choose to commit suicide, then who am I to tell them that they're making the wrong decision? It all comes down to your quality of life and what you want to do with your life. Nobody else should decide things like these for you. And I do think the situation above is quite a bit different. If you know you have a few lives left, you have to take that into consideration. It shouldn't be turned into a matter of principle. | |
