I'm an only child so I've always been comfortable in my solitude. I DO love people though. I have my circle of friends that I love to be around. I definately have to have some days where it's just me.

I absolutely love my solitude! I can be in my space for an entire day or two and it trips people I've lived with out. I remember as a kid when I was to clean my room; I'd be up there for hours just doing whatever, playing music, reading, etc. While I had to do yardwork...I'd just be in the yard doing everthing by myself "except" the work at hand, catching bees, spiders, flys, etc...I just like being in my own world!

I'm with you, Dex: I love solitude! The older I get, the more I crave it. Playing guitar...writing...reading...whatever.

I need time by myself now and then. So yeah,.. very comfortable in solitude. I think it is important that you are able to enjoy time by yourself, rather than always feel the need to be entertained.

And yeah Dex: I have watched you do your own thing...and you certainly have that relaxation over you.

But remember; you can have solitude together aswell. With certain people... who both feel no need to speak just to avoid the "uncomfortable" silence.

Remember? (Gina's front lawn, stars, silence) wink sigh

Me too. I'm much happier living alone. Complete freedom and no one to take care of(except myself).

Hmm, I always thought you sounded way too attached to yor wife to go without her for such a long time.

Oh, I'm attached to her, no doubt about it, but it's through choice. I love spending time with her and so being in a position where I can spend nearly all of my time with her, I do. However, I've always been a bit of a loner, and when I want my time to myself I have it. I don't get bored by myself and sometimes wish I never had to talk to anyone. Talking is overrated.

Growing up as an only child, Ive had to do almost everything by myself. Im a very independent person and I am very comfortable doing things on my own. Most people that I know couldt go out to eat or to a movie alone but I do it without thinking twice about it. Its just apart of who I am. I am very comfortable in my own skin.

Has this experiment been successful?

well, to be honest im not sure yet..what i do know is that i had a mini-dave chappelle moment in my life....way over stressed about my business and where i was in life...lack of self-esteem was taking its toll....so, i bought a bunch of books on various subjects and started reading..writing....and in the process i started to worry about spending too much time alone....i guess i had a lightbulb moment because part of having low self-esteem is that you worry too much about what others think of your actions thus resulting in total inactivity...

so, its gonna be a work in progress...but i now dont give a crap about how being alone....(physically and in life)..so yeah, i guess it is working. wink

U fuckin rock. hug

Samaar

I have an identical twin sister and growing up we did everything as one.
Now, I'm just as happy to do most things alone as with another person.

MOST things, wink
