so one of us here at The DownLoad Society has a problem....

over the past year while at work he has been constintly harrassed because of his sexuallity. He has been called "faggot" told that he was sick and was a freak. this has taken place for over a year and he constintly went to his supervisors and the owner of the company to complain through emails and in person and nothing was ever done about the situation. first they told him to ignore it and it would go away, it didn't work, then they told him that he should tuffin up and fight back so he tried that and it got worse then they told him that he not to say anything at all and if he didn't get into a confrontation for a whole month he would get a raise, well for 3 weeks he took the "abuse" and bit his toung, then finally after being harassed for 1/2 hour straight, being told by someone that he was going to get something shoved up his "ass" and that he was a "bitch" and he was going to get "bitch slapped" and other physical punishments... he went to the owner again at told him that he had had enough... in the end the owner told he that he wasn't going to do nothing about it and that he had a big mouth and that if he wanted a job he would do his work and shut the "fuck" up. and when he told his owner that he wanted a written appology from the 2 people who harassed him the owner told he NO that he was going no where and that he wasn't going to do anything about it. and then Fired Him... told him to get the fuck out and that he had 6 witness to say that he quit so that he couldn't collect unemployment. then told him to come back in a month to get his final check.

if this happen to one of you what would u do about it...

oh by the way He had a tape recorder in his pocket and recorded the whole incident with the owner.

i would like your help on how to advise him.

What state is this in?

If it's a state that includes sexual orientation in its discrimination statutes, your friend will have much better luck fighting back.

Most states have non-profit groups that work to protect the civili rights of the glbtq community. You friend should contact them for help.

3) Write a letter to the company outlining EVERYTHING.
4) Quit

in no particular order and ALLLL of the above. I would not stand for this abuse...not even one day. He has been sexually harrased....told that if he takes the abuse, his job and raise are intact...I cannot tell you how illegal this is.

and i have herd the tape.. the person who said he would do those things to him admits it. and the owner of the company basically says to him that he is a piece of shit and to go fuck himself. its pretty intense.

Well some states does not have sexual orientation discrimination but you sure can use sexual harassment with no problem. If u hav eany of those statements on tape about sticking soething up your ass u can use that easily for that. But make sure the tape recorder is easily heard and no static intefering with the conversations.
