Best way to deal with it is to keep the long distance part as short as possible and get your ass over there!

thats true. long distance stuff never works-ever Unless you just want to fuck every now and then, but even so a local booty call is more interesting if you're into that.

thats true. long distance stuff never works-ever That is not true my boyfriend and I have been together now for three and a half years now and we've been great. We have no issues simply because we trust eachother completely....(and i am a very jealous girl) I am not saying it hasnt been easy but if you really love that person then you would go to the ends of the earth for them. Also if you want to keep a long distance relationship going you have to know your partners habits and background...and only then can you have full trust in them. If my bf was a flirt with the girls etc then I would agree with you in saying that it doesnt work. But long distance relationships rarely work...you have to keep at it and work hard for it you both really love eachother. Bottom line is you really have to know the person and know what they feel for you before you take a serious jump like that, if not you will end up with a broken heart and a broken pocket.

Yep I've been in a long distance relationship for more than two years, but we both knew/know that it's only ever going to be temporary. That's been the main thing that's kept us going through the ups and downs. Also, like someone's already said, it helps if you know each other inside out anyway - we'd been 'actual' together for 3 years prior to the distance - this is why long distance relationships that had begun from being long distance (e.g. over internet) rarely ever work out...unless you're able to visit each other frequently enough to build up that understanding and trust. ..... BULLSEYE!

Been together for nearly 7 years. Travelling between the US and Australia at various times to see each other for anywhere between 3 - 8 month stretches.
It sucks big time. But we wouldn't trade each other for anyone else, so we just have to deal with it until we decide to get married or solve it some other way....we're working on ideas to bring us together....maybe start a small business so we could be partners.....the only way you can live in the US is if you marry an American or are specially hired by someone....so we have those two options....or she might come here to Sydney.... anyway we talk every day on the phone, send pictures....but it still sucks ass.

long distance friendship is sad too ...there are a few people in particular here I'd SO love to meet (particularly Terra in Canada and Sinister in the US among others because it'll probably be a long time before I can get there )

Cuase you can always work through the other stuff. But if there's no chemistry, then it's all down the shitter. Yup, sex first.
