i don't see why you would say i am insecure because i like to wear make-up, color my hair or have my nails done. i do it because i like it...not because i feel i have to. that doesn't mean i am insecure....it means i am vain. i'm hot and i know it!!!

Fuck all y'all, I like my makeup Don't wear it ALL the time or feel like I NEED it but I do wear it when I'm going out out or to work, not just for running errands or the gym

If you're talking about extremes then lets talk about extremes. But you're making it seem like any woman who uses tools to enhance her beauty is automatically insecure & that ain't so. Makeup is FUN I don't really do nails & heels & shit but I probably would if I had the time & patience

I have noticed from being in the dating scene that most women are insecure. They need compliments all the time and told how great they are all the time. All the time you see women say that they want a man that will make them feel special. Pretty sad.

IMO, the type of insecurity you're talking about is just one form of it, and manifested by preoccupation with looks in order to be desired.

I personally believe that men and women have the same basic desires and needs--love and acceptance--but we go about getting our needs met in different ways.

Insecurity begins when one or both people fear something, whether if its being hurt, or losing the other person. Thats why we have stalkers, girls fighting with other girls over their boyfriend or vice versa.

i wear my make-up, dye/do my hair, take care of my nails, whiten my teeth, tan, and dress well because as its been stated before here.... when you LOOK good, you FEEL good and lets face it, a woman that takes the time to look her best before she walks out the door gets treated differently in this world its sad, but true i can run up to the grocery store with no make-up, hair in a pony tail, and sweats on.... not many folks say much to me i go in a great outfit, make-up on, and hair done (not only done for the grocery store of course, im not that bad im talking about a day out where im 'dressed') men AND women seem to have a lot more to say. so, either, its because they like to see a woman looking 'together' or, its just that its my attitude thats different

either way, i LOVE getting ready... i LOVE my make-up, perfume, favorite clothes, push-up bras sorry, i LOVE being a woman

Some of these comments are kind of disturbing & over the top w/ the "insecurity" finger pointing Lots of generalizing too There's some fucked up attitudes about women here

i think men should take some of the responsibility for that not everyone in this world was meant to look like barbie.... however, look at all the pictures of what people think is 'beautiful' .... they all are thin, beautifully done make-up and hair, sexy clothes - you get the point.

No one else is responsible for making us feel special or beautiful. That shows a lack of self esteem. It's not men's fault. And looks are important to women is well along with men's finances and status in life.
