Why Are Women So Insecure?

I mean come on now...lipstick, eye shadow, dyed hair, fake nails/nail polish, "high" heels. Those are the most common things women like to use to make themselves look better. Many can't even go out without at least putting some sort of make up on. Do they think they really need that?

See, it's cool if a girl dresses up every now and then or maybe even most of the time, puts some make up on, but when they just don't feel right if they don't then it's a problem. At least as far as I'm concerned. It's too fucking weird when she has to get up before you do because she feels uncomfortable without make up.

Insecurity is such a turn off...even if she does looks hot with all that crap.

Well, considering makeup and wigs were wore by men in Europe for a while, and that we invented high heel shows for ourselves, I think we're prett insecure ourselves.

I don't think the problem with women is that they are more insecure than we are, but the fact that they just will not submit to my will.

way to generalize, mr. coco. you're looking at the post of a woman who's never been or felt insecure in her whole life.

sometimes it's just that we are taught to do those things. although i think it is mostly vanity instead of insecurity i could be wrong. there are times when i think i look better with make-up on, but i don't wear it all the time and i don't feel like i have to start my day off that way either. you either like me naturally or you don't.

just my thought.

Still, that's very different. Only men of a certain class used to do that.

My mom always said be the best you can be and always present yourself well. I get lazy alot but I like to look decent. I dont wear alot of makeup but I look good for me not because I need to look good for anyone else. I like knowing and feeling that I look good or that Im having a good hair day, it can make the difference in a day being crappy or being ok if you feel good about yourself. Im the first one to throw on my track suit and sneakers, ball cap the whole bit....but I'll still put on my lip gloss cause I like to...and it gives me the lil fem touch when Im all tomboy'd out biggrin

I will agree that they are insecure--much more so than they should be.
But I feel men are also just as insecure in alot of cases--we need nice cars, a good job, etc---I'm rehashing the while "if you don't aspire to be hire, you're a loser" theme, but we are very insecure in areas.

For women, it's all about vanity. Look at those aweful magazines and wafish hollywood actresses. disbelief Women are believing that this is HOW all of them should look, when in fact that would be just plain grose.

Well generalizations do have a purpose and aren't nearly always bad. I'm not gonna sit here and write a 10 page essay which includes all the different types of women just to be PC. I keep it short and simple.

well some are insecure and its because they don't know their worth or they've been taught that their worth is only determined by what men think of them.

I LOVE to put on make up and play dress up and sport funky shoes and whatnot, but it's more of a fun thing for me, almost a hobby, than it is a true necessity. Getting dressed up, putting on make up, doing my hair, all that stuff for me is half (and sometimes more than half) the fun of going out. And while I don't get all dolled up all the time (I wear eyeliner everyday but everything else is just for sometimes) I admit I don't like to leave the house without being somewhat presentable. I don't look at it as an insecurity, really, just something I do. I feel better when I think I look better. And so much of attractivity is about attitude and how you feel about yourself.
As for getting up an hour before your man just so he doesn't see you with bedhead and without make-up, well that's just silly.

Right, personal care is good, but a lot of women take it way too far.

Yeah but thats their choice. Its not affecting you directly so why do you care. If you don't like women who wear alot of makeup then don't date them. Women have always "dressedup" since they were little...I think its in our nature...and for some its how they express themselves. I dont think there is anything wrong with wearing alot of makeup and even if it looks trashy to me or gaudy...Im not wearing it so its not my business. Sometimes I think its great that some people have the guts to wear the far out colors and stuff and sometimes Im jealous cause I dont have the guts to get that expressive. Many women arent purposely trying to look whorish or gross, they're just being them and they aren't asking everyone to love it...so leave it wink Ive seen some men with some pretty interesting makeup jobs too...again, maybe not always "acceptable"...whatever the definition of that is...but its one little thing that lets them express who they are...either for personal reasons or professional. I just think there are more things to be concerned with then how much makeup someone wears, if you don't like it, ignore it cause they sure arent expecting everyone to like it wink

The fair skin and blonde hair symbolized way more than beauty, but that's way off topic as far as I'm concerned. It's not a common practice anymore in our western society.

Why is it always a problem if someone is outspoken on this site? You should know that I don't really care about anyone who's not a friend or family and they could all die tomorrow and I wouldn't give a fuck. This is just my opinion on it and I'd rather have an unpopular opinion than none at all.

PS: I didn't say anything about it being whorish or gross.

I'm not upset, you should know I'd say different things if I was. lol It's just that you're asking me why I care because I made a post about it. I dunno, maybe I'm tired of the popularity threads and stuff about how drunk and stupid we'd like to get...whose dick we'd like to suck which make GD so one dimensional.

Why I care? I dunno, do I really care? I could ask you why you care what I think, but an equally silly question IMO.

I like to get stupid too, but there's a lot more to me and every now and then I like to say something a bit more interesting. Unfortunately everytime I do I get accused of being judgemental, so I just go back to Googling pics of stupid stuff.

I don't care too much about what most people think, but some should know me better. I'm not completely indifferent to everyone's opinion. Just a bit more selective. After all, I'm human too.

I wear no makeup, no dresses, no heels. You either like me the way I am or fuck you. biggrin

It took me damn near thirty five years to get comfortable in my own skin and I'll be damned if I let a man fuck that up for me.

I would hate for a man or woman to see me without and want me to hurry up and put that shit back on. lol
