StarWars Episode 4 - A New Hope

So I watched it a couple of weeks ago, for the first time in years.
This version was the most recently released one on DVD where they still had the nerve to keep Jabba in one of the scenes but made him every slightly more tolerable than the horrid 1997 release.

Anyways, what I noticed about the movie is that it really kind of sucks. The last fight sequence is --well--boring as hell. The battle between Obi One and Darth Vader is completely a snore fest, and the acting is possibly worse than Episode I.
What makes the last battle between Obi One and Darth Vader so anti-clamatic is knowing that the battle between him and Anekin in Episode III is probably going to be quite a spectical to watch.

I understand that this was a ground breaking movie when it was released, but having watched it with a fresh set of eyes, the movie really really sucks.
This is not to say I think the new movies don't suck. But Episode IV is probably the worst of them.

The Empire strikes back, dare I say it, is the only one that I can watch over and over again--it's brilliant.

Sorry, but Just sayin'

Empire is my Fav too. Im not sure that I agree that A New Hope is a snore-fest but I can see where you are coming from. I suppose it is nearly 30 years old, is only a 3rd of the real story that Lucas wanted to tell at the time and it had to be self contained because nobody knew if it woudl sell

It was also his first stab at the star wars saga, so cut him a BIT of slack. Empire is by the far the best, but let's see what episode 3 holds.
