Deleting threads without a reason.

I'm curious as to why my thread was deleted twice;there were no replies on the thread, was not offensive, or any 'graphic' pics in it??? hmm I wasn't even sent an orgnote as to why? Can a moderator answer that question for me?

Yet, your every thread is allowed to go on. Talking about nonsense.

And erm.... any other Valentine thread. And like I wanna read about scalping?

I cheer on nonsense threads in this case.

Moving this to Prince.org site discussion

Ooh, and having a Valentine sticky, yet letting all these Valentine threads to swamp the GD, now that is plain irresposible!

What the heck you have the sticky for? As they allow it in GD, they must allow me a Michael Jackson thread in the Music; Non Prince forum too!

I mean; really!

What exactly is a US thing? And why is it General Discussion and not Politics? I think beating drums for racial issues is political in itself.

I mean, I am not attacking the thread. LOVE the thread, good for everybody, but hey! It's in the wrong forum!

Uhm, maybe the wrong subject to fool around with....

Apologies. Like I said, this is not about the thread. While trying to make fun of something else, I just wondered about the black history person-threads....
I understand that my question, in itself meant to be funny, can be read as me trying to be racist and pushing a racist issue.

Even though my question is valid, now I think of it. What makes a Black person-thread NOT racist, but a White person thread seems racist immediately?

Is it cuz I think all colors are equal in my eyes? hmm Interesting topic. But WRONG FORUM!

And that is, in a roundabout way, the point I was trying to make. Sorry if I hurt any feelings.

Well, you asked the question, so here's my short version of the answer:

In the U.S., all colors are NOT treated equally. Institutional racism still reigns. So it isn't that threads about white people are automatically racist and thread about black people automatically aren't. (That's an example of an oversimplified complaint that white racists use all the time.) Because institutional racism is still so pervasive here, it remains necessary to openly acknowledge the contributions of people of color, as they are still routinely buried.

That's my shiny pennies for the day. Now, back to Prince riding bicycles in the nude. biggrin
