Except I still don't know what I'm packing... That will be a week-long decision process at least. I'm so bad with these things. Shoes are always the worst. I never leave home without at least 3-4 pair...

Well, pack one pair that can get dirty and beer-soaked. Queen's Day is about loads of people stepping on your toes and stepping in beer puddles.

Lots of interesting things to see here in Rotterdam. It's the second largest city of the country, only one hour away from Amsterday yet so different. The contrast alone is very much worth the trip. All people know when they've been to Holland is what Amsterdam is like.

I'm not saying Rotterdam represents Holland better than Amsterdam (none of the larger cities do), but it's a different view on the country without going somewhere that's completely boring or too far away which would make it too time consuming.
