So, I went to a housewarming event at orger Sosgemini's place on Saturday and he greeted me as follows:

"Hey, everyone, this is Robert".

What's funny, is that my name is actually Paul, not Robert. When I went on to meet everyone and introduced myself as "Paul", they gave me a weird look. So, going forward, if people say "Hey, where has Robert been?",etc keep in mind that they're probably referring to me.

Something similar has happened to me, though it was my own fault. There's a lady who works in my building who thinks my name is Sarah and I just never bothered correcting her. To this day if she sees me in a hallway or elevator or wherever she says "Hi Sarah! How's it going?" etc. We've actually had quite involved conversations. But after a few years I realized she can't be all that bright as we have to wear security badges with our names printed in them.
