As a huge fan of this show since the beginning it really sucks to see the nosedive this once great, cutting edge show has taken. As I think this...I come across an 'Entertainment Weekly' article asking the same question.

This show was so damn funny the first few seasons, the last couple of seasons had too many celeb guests on there and I think that was the beginning of the end. Do the writers have a hard time coming up with scripts that just involve the four main characters that they have to bring in Janet Jackson to salvage it. I think Janet (though I love her) had the most unfunny lines in the show's guest history.

The ratings are showing how bad it has gotten...W&G used to sit comfortably in around the Top 15 for most of it's life...now it down in the mid 20's. Maybe the end of'Friends' made the show lose viewers...cuz 'Joey' sure aint helping!

Sure the show is on it's 7th season but great sitcoms like SEINFELD, FRIENDS, CHEERS, AND FRASIER all mananged to keep their freshness into their 8th, 9th, even 11th season (Frasier). I think the show is salvagable if they go back to the show's basics. The characters have all changed to become quite unlikelable, particularly the characters of 'Will' and 'Grace'....they have become so annoying of late.

I was happy to see Will FINALLY get a boyfriend but does he have to act like a bitchy old neurotic woman now? And Grace (who I kind of never cared for) is just fucking dull. Her lines suck and her complaining and whinning has become unbearable.

Fans of the show know that 'Jack' and 'Karen' are the show stealers...and even they have lost their glorious luster. Jack is just too childish and it's not as appealling now that he's a bit older. Karen's squeaky voice has gotton too squeaky and I miss the days of the early seasons when she was a total bitch and her one liners would have you in stitches ('Grace..the blouse hurts like a hangover')

I still have faith in the show and will keep watching in hopes that they re-think and come up with better story lines. I'm actually attending a taping of an episode in 2 weeks and cannot wait to see how it all goes down.

I just needed a place to complain out loud and hope that other fans or ex-fans understand me in this.....

4-More ROSARIO!!!! Her scenes with Karen are classic!

I like the show too, watched from the beginning I know I don't enjoy it as much as I used to but I couldn't really put my finger on why. I guess the 2 main characters becoming sort of unlikeable people isn't a great effect

I've always thought they made Jack & Karen too stupid. Love them when they're mean & nasty, but not acting like they're 4 years old

Anyway, I'm sticking with it, hoping it gets better. I think the last time they really made me laugh out loud was when the old porn flicks of Karen were discovered - Grace shows it to her, thinks Karen is gonna jump out the window but she's only reaching for her booze which is chilling on the fire escape
