Do You Know What Today Is...It's Our Anniversary Enough with the 3T reference, but today is me and my bf's 11th anniversary. It seems like, for my family, 11 years is a very long time (considering that my parents divorced after 9 years of marriage). Naturally, we like to remind each other that we love each other and acknowledge our anniversary, but otherwise we keep it very low-key; dinner and a movie this weekend is probably all we're going to do. Maybe we're boring and unromantic, but that's our idea of a night out. Does anyone else keep these sorts of celebrations relatively low-key?

Congratulations on 11 years! That's wonderful!
I am the same way about keeping these sort of things lowkey. As I've gotten older it's become nice to acknowledge milestones like anniversaries with something a bit special like dinner out or whatever, but anniversaries certainly aren't the big romantic intense whoopdedoos like they were when I was younger. However I still remember the days when anniversaries were still a major big deal that necessitated dramatic, expansive romantic gestures or activities.."It's our 1 month anniversary! Ooo it's our 15 week anniversary!" etc, etc complete with the sappy cards, poems, flowers, extra-special plans, etc. And you aren't boring or unromantic. You've just reached the point where you two understand ANY TIME spent together is special, meaningful, and to be cherished. Again, congrats to you and your boyfriend on celebrating 11 years together!!!

Congrats!!!!! So happy for you!!!
of course, I am a tad bit pissed that you now have that annoying fucking song running through my head!!! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)
