Not too long ago, I became obsessed with a person that worked at a nightclub I frequented. Honestly, that was the only reason I was going. Anyway, it was a multi-room place and whenever they walked to the other room I made sure I walked in there too, so when they walked out, they would see me! of course at the time *I* thougth it was loveetc and it took me a couple years to learn i was wrong but anyway...

when i was 17, i was living adn working on my own etc in this little city in NY enar where i grew up. I'd had a nonn adn off long-distance relationship with someone from Maine i'd met through drum and bugle corps at a show. One night at work i had this huge bug up my ass that i HAD to go visit him. so at 9pm, in the middle of my shift, without sayign a word to anyone, i walked out hopped in my car and drove to my apt. I then threw a bunch of clothes and shit in a box ( my suitcases were full and i was in a hurry lol) and called him real quick to elave a message i was coming. He was quite surprised, and of course told me to wait til the morning. I of course did not wait lol. The whoel trip was messed up. notto mention that actually i was stil l16 come to think about it....and it's illegal for anyone under 17 to cross statelines unaccompanied...but anyway...i left right after, stopped at the store and grabbed some cookies and caffeine pills lol...which i wrote a check for...and took off on the road with about 20 bucks in my pocket. Now at this point i had NO idea that gasstations didn't accept checks, and had NO CLUE how expensive teh NYS Thruway tolls or the Mass Pike tolls were....I also really didn't konw where i was giong lol. This trip took me from 10pm until 8am...what was supposed to be 6hours lol...I didn't stop other than for gas and directions and whatnot, but i did find myself off the masspike because i didn't have money for tolls. almost out of gas at5am i finally ran across a gasstation that was open and asked for directions back to the pike. A very kind UPS driver helped me with that, and gave me $5 so i could pay the tolls. I followed his truck to the pike and made it the rest of the way up to NH and ALMOST to where i was supposedto meet my "friend"...well i got his directions severely screwed up and got horribly lost. I did know that he was a member of the Newington fire dept. and saw a exit sign for Newington so i took a chance and followed it. by some miracle, after driving around in circles in teh back roads of this small rural town, i came out at an intersection and right in front of me was teh fire dept. thank god! i went in and explained things. was immediately offered to use a cot for a nap which i declined, then was given directions to wehre i was supposed to meet him...which wasn't for another 4 horus lol. well i finalyl made it there, some weird bicycle dude bougth me breakfast(man was i naive back then, but damn lucky) and i sat on my car in teh Dairy Queen parking lot until he showed up a few horus later. what a trip! and all that on a 3 month old driver's license adn a shitty $100 car that a year later the Maine state police confiscate from me for too many inspection violations LOL. Ironically, i ended up on that very same fire dept that i first got out at in new england, and had soem awesome times there and made some wonderful friends with some amazing people. things do eventually end (i moved to ME a few months later, lived with this guy while i finished HS lol...we eventually got married, had a son, and later got divorced etc blah blah) my mother still gets on me about taking off for Maine unannoucned at 16 with a crap car for over a week. I never even told ehr i was gone for about 2 days til his mother made me call mine . boy was i bad but anyway things come full circle and after many many other strange adventures and twists and turns along the way in several states, I am now right back in tehvery house i was born in in NY. Never thought I'dlive here again. sorry for rambling y'all
