Yeah, it was great. I think it's the last time I took a leap and just did something impulsively.

We dated for a while after but it all fizzled out. You can see pictures of Bart at his website: http://www.mad-eyes.net

There are several that come to mind:

1. Playing a concert for the first time.

2. Being complimented on a short story I'd written by a writer I greatly respected.

3. The first night I spent with my first girlfriend.

4. Becoming friends with an actress I had greatly admired and making her laugh.

5. Snogging with a rock star I fancied.

6. Flying down to New York to go see Springsteen in a very intimate venue with one of my best friends.

But, truthfully, I think the best moments of my life have been times spent with family and friends, just making each other laugh and baring our souls to each other. Teaching my nieces some guitar has also made for some really sweet moments for me.

Too difficult to pin it down to one.

- Meeting my (now) wife.

- Watching my (now) wife sleeping and deciding to ask her to spend her life with me. It should be noted that she was at her best while sleeping, and had I been watching her while she was awake I may not have asked the same question. lol

- contributing to this thread. I am truly blessed.

Nieces and nephews are really something special. nod My nephew has helped me understand what it means to have children. I love my nephew so much, and feel more certain about having children and about planning for it.

The day my niece was born, i cried like a baby after seeing her for the first time in the nursery.. She looked over at the glass (even thought she technically i dont think could see...) but i cried like a big baby! She was so beautiful!

Hello axe buddy wave

Yup, that reminds me of my nephew. He's particularly close to me and my wife. His parents are quite young and find it hard to make ends meet. We regularly take him out when we go shopping and stuff and are now really close to him. I love this boy absolutely and want to be a good uncle, and I appreciate what he's taught me about taking care of babies. Before this I had no idea. I'm thankful not only for his wonderful existence in this world but also for what he has taught me that I'll use when I'm a father.

While this may not be the "best" moment, it's one of my all-time happy moments.

The last time I went to the Glastonbury festival (2003). It was the last afternoon of the festival, we were sitting on the hill at the main stage. Macy Gray was being her bad self on-stage. I was with my hunny and friends and drinking some too strong, warm beer we'd purchased off someone. We were chatting with people around us. The weather was gorgeous, I was blissed out. I believe I laughed for about 45 minutes straight. Everything was so perfect. I swear, that was one of those moments I could live forever in...

woot!

I went to Brussells on my own to surprise somebody I'd gotten friendly with at another website. Unfortunately, they couldn't meet me. sad

So I went to an internet cafe and pleaded with any Belgians to come and meet me. One responded and told me that he could meet me the day after.

I spent all day Saturday on my own, but the Belgians were really, really friendly and I didn't feel lonely at all. I went to loads of bars and met loads of great people. Strangely, there were a lot of Canadians in Brussells and I'm unsure why.

I was staying in a hotel just off La Grande Place. I woke up Sunday and it was a gorgeous sunny day. It was weird to see cafe bars open at 09:00am and people drinking wine underneath parasols at that time in the morning. It felt so foreign and yet familiar. I went out to get a newspaper and waited for my "guide" to show up.

At about 11-ish, Bart turned up at the hotel forecourt. I had no idea what he looked like but I knew it was him straight away.

He took me to an indoor market, showed me cathedrals, took me to see the pissy statue thing and then we ended up at a street which was nothing but seafood restaurants. I think it was called Boucher Street. I can't remember. Anyway, it was weird because I'd never seen a street where every single building was a cafe - let alone a seafood cafe.

The sky was a beautiful azure blue, the seafood cafes stank of fish but I didn't mind. In fact I quite liked the stinkiness because it made me feel alive and real. I had this gorgeous mysterious man guiding me through the streets and I think that moment on that street was the last time I was truly genuinely glad to be alive. I felt like I could do anything. I felt like I was flying.

not Bart, the google-obsessed encyclopedic Belgian, right?? pray

not to jump the bandwagon here...but i'd definitely say the birth of my two kids...and every moment of their lives i've had the honor to share. children are an amazing thing. if yo ulook in their eyes you see this amazing intelligence, innocence, and unconditional love that somehow seems to reced in most as they age ...

but also i had a wonderful "moment" the other day....i was being told all the things Holland doesn't have that the states do...like "good" pringles etc....and it was followed up with "and the worst thing about Holland is...they don't have you" awwwww....melted my wittle icey heart having somethign like that told to you sincerely like that...it can instantly make all your worries, problems, stresses, and anger leave your mind and heart if only for a few minutes (of course they do all come back when reality strikes lol)
