Haven't had many best moments of my life lately... And I can never rank and put things in order anyway. I'd feel bad for the other moments.

When my Pops kicked me out of his house.

DOn't get me wrong, I was lost, confused, angry, scared, and cold.

But the events of that lead to the wonderful life I have now 10 years later in Florida.

And he's dead, so hah!

I think knowing I was going to university. Strangely enough the best moments of my life never really sink in until much later. I think falling in love with someone and they like you back is also a great feeling. But to pinpoint it down to just one single thing, well, then I couldn't say.

my little cousin who was six at the time saying goodbye to me at the station after spending a couple of days with her she held my hand so tight while we waited for the train and when it came she tugged at my arm and i knelt down beside her so she could whisper something in my ear and she whispered "i love you"
so sincere and unconditional
i doubt i'll ever get a moment like that again

If I don't count marrying my hubby and giving birth to my sons, I'd say realizing that I fell in love last winter and being loved in return with no expectations.

I went to Brussells on my own to surprise somebody I'd gotten friendly with at another website. Unfortunately, they couldn't meet me. sad

So I went to an internet cafe and pleaded with any Belgians to come and meet me. One responded and told me that he could meet me the day after.

I spent all day Saturday on my own, but the Belgians were really, really friendly and I didn't feel lonely at all. I went to loads of bars and met loads of great people. Strangely, there were a lot of Canadians in Brussells and I'm unsure why.

I was staying in a hotel just off La Grande Place. I woke up Sunday and it was a gorgeous sunny day. It was weird to see cafe bars open at 09:00am and people drinking wine underneath parasols at that time in the morning. It felt so foreign and yet familiar. I went out to get a newspaper and waited for my "guide" to show up.

At about 11-ish, Bart turned up at the hotel forecourt. I had no idea what he looked like but I knew it was him straight away.

He took me to an indoor market, showed me cathedrals, took me to see the pissy statue thing and then we ended up at a street which was nothing but seafood restaurants. I think it was called Boucher Street. I can't remember. Anyway, it was weird because I'd never seen a street where every single building was a cafe - let alone a seafood cafe.

The sky was a beautiful azure blue, the seafood cafes stank of fish but I didn't mind. In fact I quite liked the stinkiness because it made me feel alive and real. I had this gorgeous mysterious man guiding me through the streets and I think that moment on that street was the last time I was truly genuinely glad to be alive. I felt like I could do anything. I felt like I was flying.
