MP3's? Info Please? Hi all~~~ I just got a MP3 player. Its an RCA Lrya(64MB) I know its small,,but it only has 12 songs on it & its full! I am clueless about this stuff. I can buy memory cards also, but dont know HOW much they will hold? Is anyone familiar with the Lyra brand MP3? Also CANT register on-line b/c im in canada. gggggrrrrr

64mb is quite small but you should be able to fit more on...
For listening to stuff on my walkman, I use Joint-Stereo VBR encoding. I go as low as 32kbps and as high as 128kbps. I know that sounds a bit extreme but I only use my walkman when I'm travelling. With the ambient noise of traffic and general hub-bub of the streets I don't really analyse the sound-quality all that much. Which mp3 encoder are you using to make mp3s with? Also - I may be wrong, but I'm sure that the Lyra range can all play mp3pro files which are much smaller. Check your manual to see if this is the case.

Encoder? Uhmmmmm... can i get back to ya?..lol I download from Ares. & I transfer my files with "MusicMatch Jukebox" if that helps? Do you know how much a emory card costs? (approx) & how muchmore space would that give me? Im also thinking of returning it to get a "bigger" one,,BUT some places are funny about software exchanges & will only do that if the package is UN opened~~

I take it's just an SD card and not a Memory Stick or anything weird? Here's a link to Radio Shacks' canadian website: http://www.radioshack.ca/...&pagenum=0 Do you know how to make Music Match Jukebox rip your CDs to WAV files instead of MP3s? If you can figure that out, you can change the WAV files into mp3pro files. The free mp3pro encoder is here: http://www.mp3prozone.com...Player.exe If you can't figure out how to change MusicMatch Jukebox to make WAVs instead of mp3s, try downloading CDex as it has a big button on the front-screen which will convert a CD to WAVs with one click. CDex can be downloaded by clicking here: http://www.download.com/C...26370.html I hope this helps. I'm not very technical myself.

The extra money will be well worth the time and hassle saved. I got some homework to do...this is a pain in the ass I probably wasn't very clear... Once you have WAV files, you can convert them to mp3pro files which are tiny. You can download an mp3pro encoder here: http://www.mp3prozone.com...Player.exe
