OK, when you use the windows system configuration utility and go to the startup tab, are you ever baffled by the programs that run on start up? Do you not know what half of them are and if they need to be running and using up your PC's resources?

Use this site to find out what they are and stop them from running if you don't need them. You'd be surprised at what you find, even if you use anti virus, spybot and adaware.

Hit your windows start key, go to run, type MSCONFIG, and click on the START tab on the utility that pops up.
