Did Anybody Watch "The Biggest Loser" Tonight?

I watch this show every week (except last Tuesday, somehow I forgot it was on. err). Anyway, tonight's episode was kind of neat in that they showed never before seen footage of the contestants. They also showed the contestants who were voted off the show when they started the program, and then showed a picture of what the contestants look like now. Every one of the contestants who got booted off the show kept on with their diet and exercise, and they looked great! A few of the women did not even look like the same person. LOL - when they showed the before and after picture, I was like, "Is that the same woman? She looks so different!" omfg It's amazing how much better people look when they lose the excess pounds.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Nope, Morris is still on the show. LOL - it was funny because they were showing some footage where Morris was complaining because he didn't like eating his vegetables. lol

I agree, it's fun to eat snacks while watching TV (although I've cut that out completely for now). biggrin

No one got voted off, because like I said in my originating post, they were showing never-before-seen-footage of the show. It was also kind of cool, because the two trainers who are working with the contestants on the show, were giving tips on how to eat smart during the holidays.

When I first saw the previews I was disgusted, thinking the same thing as you. But after watching it I feel differently.
These people are bettering themselves, becoming healthier, increasing their self esteem.
I think it's great.
I also think maybe the show will de-sensitize America to seeing rolls of fat.
And that's a VERY good thing.

But, what about increasing ones self-esteem by accepting oneself without alteration? I'm all for being healthy, but thin doesn't automatically equal healthy.

nod I have to admit that watching "The Biggest Loser" has inspired me to launch my own lose weight program, and so far I have lost about 22 pounds. I am motivated and know that I will reach my goal weight.

True, being thin doesn't automatically mean that a person is healthy (thin people can get certatin diseases as well). However, once you reach 40+ (like I am), being overweight can lead to high blood pressure, diabetes and heart problems, just to name a few things. I would rather be thin than to be overweight and risk getting one of these diseases, to be honest. I am of the opinion that if I can do something to prevent myself from getting sick from one of the diseases that I mentioned earlier, then shoot, I am all for it 100%.

I have an aunt on my dad's side of the family who has been overweight for as long as I have known her, and she developed diabetes a few years ago. So I guess that's another reason why I'm trying to lose the excess weight, since I sure as heck don't want to wind up a diabetic as well, and have to resort to giving myself insulin shots every day. omg I know quite a few people with that disease, of all ages, and it's scary to think that if I don't watch what I'm eating, that I might wind up with it as well. boxed

I've quit drinking soda altogether, and only drink water. I've also cut out all junk food, and eat tons of fruits and veggies, among other foods that are allowed on the Weight Watcher's diet. Losing weight is not easy, but once you get the determination in your head that you are going to do it, nothing will stop you. smile

True... but when you're 400+ lbs like that dude Maurice (or whatever his name is) it's an emergency situation. I'm glad he's on the show & I hope he adopts a healthier lifestyle & gets to a HEALTHY weight. It's not about being "thin" (at least it shouldn't be) but excess weight can't go completely unchecked IMO... smile

Co-sign. I'm happy that Maurice is still on the show (he's one of the finalists). Even if he doesn't win the grand prize, I am hoping that he continues with the weight and diet regime, and gets his weight under control.

pissed I can't BELIEVE I missed it AGAIN!!!

Sounds like it was a really good show to. I have to laugh at myself because of how much I dig this show. I don't watch Survivor, Fear Factor, The Bach. My "reality" shows are What Not to Wear, Clean Sweep and some of the other shows like that on TLC.

I had mixed feelings about the show going in, but seeing how they are treating Maurice kept me watching. He is MORBIDLY overweight, but the pounds are not melting off him like some of the others. I think that is because they are all monitored by doctors during the course of the show and the doctors are making sure he doesn't get hurt or dead.

I was so glad Kelly got voted off what was it, last week? giggle I really didn't like her.

cooked I gotta quit missing the show!
I'm firmly planted in denial

I been watching The Biggest Loser for the last couple of weeks and it's a good show. It's motivating me to lose the few extra pounds that I have. I thought it was going to make fun of fat people but it's not like that at all. The trainers they have there are trying to help those people lose weight for the sake of their health and I'm glad that they aren't making fun of them for being where they are at that moment.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
