Respect my Authoritah!

What's your org authority? What are you a wealth of information on (besides Prince)?

I'd have to say I'm your Strangers with Candy guy (DUH) and Twin Peaks Freak. I'm probably the only one who heavily listens to electronic music round here too.

I have a wealth of information on programming.

What do you mean by electronic music ? Examples ?
Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

Electronic Music? I can pretty much discuss the history of a lot of it. I come from Chicago, and know a lot about house music. I am now a downtempo/chill dj...so I know a lot about that too. Used to be a trance freek...and so theres that. I can tell you whats good and whats not and what's being touted as cutting edge. My favorite Elecrtonic "groups" are

The Orb
Shpongle
Banco De Gaia
Freaky Chakra
OTT
Shulman
Enthiogenic
Fantastic Plastic machine
Baby Mammoth
Dzamien & Kamien
Kraftwerk
Art of Noise
a bazillion more..

And then more mainstream...

BT
Chem Bros
Orbital
Towa Tei
Bjork
Babble
Lemon Jelly
Air
DJ Spooky
DJ Shadow

Haven't heard of quite a few of them, but I do have :
Orb
BT
Chems (listening to Come With Us at the moment, as it happens)
Orbital
Air

I'm also into Fatboy Slim, Prodigy, Dreadzone, FSOL, Massive Attack, Deep Forest and I've always meant to buy some Kraftwerk but I haven't quite got around to it... yet.

So, I 'm afraid I'm no expert on electronic music - interestingly I've just found BT's site which it never occurred to me to look for until now.

But for all your programming needs - I'm here : typing
Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

I love your answer...me too.

But I know some of this;

Silage (aka Konvooi)
Thea Beckman
Annie MG Schmidt
Suske & Wiske
Thorgal
Teen Titans
Andreas's Rork and Capricornus
Lots of little things about most global popular music
Magazines like Interview, Flaunt and Entertainment Weekly (love that last one)
Six Feet Under
The West Wing

The greatest things about coming here is bumping into people who know lots about OTHER things. Like Gangstafam's 'gotta have it all'-(and 'know it all')
mentality. People like him make me look further than just mainstream music and makes me want to find out more for myself. To him I owe my expanded Joy Division, Bjork, Cure and Tori Amos collections...
