What Can I Use 2 Repair CD Scratches? Any Suggestions? I have a CD that really, really needs to be repaired. I asked one of my friends if he knew any type of device 2 use 2 repair scratched cds. He said to use the Gamedoctor system but a lot of people have said that isn't that good. I know that because I have used the manual version of the Gamedoctor system, but I'm going to probably use the electric version of the system or just buy the CD again. Any suggestions? Check me out and add me on:

hmm, I don't recall what the product was called but my brother had
this little bottle of fluid a while ago which he bought from some specialist audio store. You can rub that fluid onto the back of the cd and it will take away all the scratches. no shit. i stood by and went as he rescued my old Prince singles from scratched oblivion. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I've only got one CD which skips. I just ripped it to a WAV and use the copied CD I made instead.
I used this ripper: http://www.geocities.com/simplelance/ Just turn the Sync Error correction up to full.

It's somethin' called D-Skin that you put on your scratched cd, so it won't skip anymore. It doesn't actually remove the scratch from what I understand, it just doesn't skip when you play it. It's like a protective band you put around the edge of your cd. I saw a commercial for it the other day.
Oh, nevermind it's just used to "prevent" scratches. And from the site I just came from it's been getting bad reviews. add-on edit [Edited 11/27/04 19:28pm] looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

Someone told me once if there's not a lot of big scratches on it..take some windex to it and that does the trick.

There are some absolutely unbelievable tips here on here! I might just scratch my Blue C.D.s to see if they work (Oh please, I hope they are just myths ) "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

Ive tried some of those CD repair kits, and some of them made the problem worse. The one I attempted required you to sand it down with two different types of sand paper, then apply a final polish to smooth it all out. Well the sandpaper made a ton of additional scratches, and the freaking polish hardly removed them.
Sometimes its cheaper just to spend the money on some more blank CDs and just download the tracks instead...

I bought one of these about 6 months ago, and i shit you not - aside from seriously heavy scratches - the sort that you'd make with a penknife, this actually works. Brilliant.

A non-abrasive toothpaste will also get out minor scratches.
