Anyone here workout?

Do any of you go to the gym or do some kind of regular exercise to stay in shape? Do you have any workout plans or techniques you would like to share with other orgers here? Perhaps something to help with losing weight or tone your body....Im interested in hearing some secrets and ideas....How long or often do you jog or ride bikes? Stuff like that if you do or have done it in the past. My training is a bit....um....unorthodox....It is certainly not for the average person....
Some of you orgers are so deceptive.....using my styles like a contraceptive....

If running after little kids all day and chain smoking all night is considered working out then yes!!

Anxiety

i'm having a really hard time of it since it's been getting colder and darker. someone recently told me to treat it like going to work - to set aside a block of time to get ready, to go, to come back and cool down, and treat it like scheduling a second job or a class or something - but it's still hard to get up the motivation or the energy...but i'm not throwing in the towel yet!

i was a dang workout machine over the summer. pout

Yup workout all the time.

If you're trying to do it to slim down here's some tips that work:

1) Take your body weight and multiply it by .8, then take that number and multiply it by 10. That is the number of calories you should be eating--no more and no less.
2) When doing cardio, do it for between 40 min and 1 hour at the very most. Your body will run out of glycegen within 40 minutes or so, and after about 60 minutes it will start to seek protein to fuel itself--absolute no no becuase it will use musle tissue. 1 pound of musle tissue burns between 35 and 100 extra calories a day.
3) If you loose more than 2 pounds a week, eat more. Too much weight loss too quickly will mean that your body is giving up muscle tissue during the process--again, a no no.
4) Don't do anything fancy. Just do the regular cycle : Day 1 (chest, tris), Day 2 (Back , Biceps), Day 3 (Legs & SHoulders), Day 4 (rest..And I mean rest).
5) Do limited excercises--don't go for anything fancy. Remember: You can NOT spot reduce. So your body will go into equilibrium once you've shed all your fat. You'll develope a six pack (for men at 8% body fat or less, for women at 12% or less).

I am a distance runner (marathon distance) and I supplement this by doing some light work with weights. I was planning on hitting some heavier weights and trying to add some bulk over the winter but I've been sick and it really isn't happening. It's also hard to add bulk as a distance runner. But big arms would be fun.

I walk or ride a bike for at least 40 min about four times a week. Nothing fancy...I just walk around my neighborhood or ride my stationary bike (as long as the neighbors downstairs don't complain! mad )

Well, I walk everyday about 30 minutes outdoors and in the evenings I do 100 stomach excercises. Sometimes I do the Pilates gym about 30 minutes.

Sounds like good advice! I got a wierd line thingy on top of my thigh that goes down to my area.....u know, like a crease! Waht the funk is that? Beneath the stomach going from the left hand side and follows the top of my thigh downwards into my private area! It is on both sides.....Iam not bothered but I have no idea what it is?

I am with Subby on this one! On my new schedule from work I have lost about fifteen pounds. My schedule changes hours every two days and I don't have the energy or time to eat. So I am eating less and running more. By the time I get home I barely have enough energy to get off of the living room floor and drag myself to my room. I just pass out in the living room my first day off. The second day I get up off the floor and bath. I guess if I had a different job I would do some type of exercise. Not now!

I would prefer sleeping than eating! It is all good though! I lost enough weight to eat like a pig for Thanksgiving!smile Just focus on the positives!

Poor Subby! I had to bring my cane with me to work the other day because my knee is killing me to walk on. The beautiful part is I have been "accidentally" hitting folks with my cane when they were getting on my nerves! lol I love being me! evillol
