halle berry and relationships

right now i'm watching "headliners and legends" and right now they are talking about halle berry and her rise to stardom and how her not having her father in her life had a impact on her relationships. they also brought up how a boyfriend (she won't reveal) busted her eardrum from hitting her so hard. it was rumored that it was wesley snipes-does anybody know if there is truth to that?

i know a lot of women who've been through hell with men and eventhough common sense tells me that bad relationships don't discriminate between the poor and the rich and the pretty and ugly, i still just can't imagine someone treating halle berry like that. i dunno.

Well, it's sad how succesfull women like Halle Berry (or Whitney Houston, or... ) don't have what it takes to stand up to their men ... and actually seem to be drawn towards these kind of abusive relationships.

Hmm, yes. I just got into an conversation with a good friend of mine about spousal abuse in famous couples. It was over Robin Givens and Mike Tyson, and my feeling that Givens was manipulative and devious (not that she deserved to be hit).

It's a shame when abuse occurs -- no matter who's involved.

shrug I think Halle is nutty and like ThreadB said, there's no reason for abuse and yet, I don't think Halle is such a sweet, wonderful woman within a relationship. She's definitely had some awful relationships and I think she needs to take a look at herself and her choices.

Christopher Williams, rumored to have physically abused her
Wesley Snipes, see posts above
David Justice, rumored to have physically abused her, cheated
Eric Benet, cheated

As far as Whitney and Bobby, those two will probably be together for the long haul. neutral

Success or not they're just women w/ the same issues as the rest of us. What makes them any different from the woman down the street that's being abused? Your inside drama has nothing to do w/ $ or celebrity, probably makes them even more insecure & needy, who knows...

you're right. it just seems like it would be easier for them to get away. but i guess if you're messed up in the head it doesn't matter.

Christopher Williams recently went on a publicity campaign to clear his name in the media(BET,ET,Sister To Sister) b/c he said that he is tired of taking the bad rap for something that Westley Snipes did. When people in the media tried to contact Snipes for comment, he refused to acknowledge or confirm the allegations.

UptownDeb

She's all glama and glitz on the outside, and as nutty as a Snickers bar on the inside. She seems to make bad choices when it comes to men. I'm no shrink, but she's lacking something...confidence...a father figure, something.
