HILARIOUS!! YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS!! (weapons of mass destruction . . .) Try this very soon, before someone forces Google to fix its site:
1) Go to Google 2) Type in: weapons of mass destruction (DON'T hit enter) 3) Hit the "I'm feeling lucky" button, NOT the "Google search" 4) Read the "error message" carefully. Someone at Google has a sense of humor . . . and will probably be fired soon. GOOGLE HERE

this is so funny!
I hope they don't take it down anytime soon...it's been around for several months so far. The weird thing is that if you click on the links on the page it takes you to amazon.com.uk

Check the web address of the page you get to. It's not Google. They're just using the same font etc as Google to make it funny. And it is, I agree with that.

Nobody on Google is behind this, so nobody will get fired. It's an independent website that has nothing to do with Google.

lmfao! That was great... hillairous.

Still funny.
If I'm not mistaken, the "I'm feeling lucky" result is based on the most commonly visited site that matches the search term. Google has nothing to do with it intentionally. Not that anyone was saying it did. [Edited 11/19/04 22:44pm]

The "I'm feeling Lucky" search will take you directly to any website relating to your keyword. If you type in any word and hit "I'm feeling Lucky", it'll take you to a website, I guess of Google's choice or probably the most popular site. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

You/the e-mail said that "someone at Google" had a "sense of humor" and might "be fired". I merely pointed out the fact that Google did not create the website in question, nor are they affiliated with it. It's directed through Google, sure, but what website isn't? Your text/the text you posted clearly suggests that it is in some way Google's doing. Which is incorrect. Get it?

Get it? why does there have to be one person on every thread that tries to bring people down? i really don't care how people get to that page. as i mentioned above, i didn't write that comment, i merely posted an email i received. and i could care less if google wrote it or not. get it?

The weird thing is that if you click on the links on the page it takes you to amazon.com.uk if you hit the bomb button it takes you to the amazon page selling "dr. strangelove" dvd. and the detect weapons button takes you to "Pieces of Intelligence: The Existential Poetry of Donald H.Rumsfeld." what's that all about??
