COMPUTER TECH HELP NEEDED!!!

A freind of mine in California has just sent me some VCD discs of Prince videos and normally I can play these on my DVD Player, but this time I cant!! There are only 2 of videos that will play on my DVD Player, but, anyway, the whole discs are formatted 2 play on my computer, but because I only have a Pentium 2 Processor the sound and visual quality is total crap!! Is there a way I can convert and burn these 2 normal DVD discs, so I can play them on my DVD Player??

Thanks!!!!

A "VCD" is nothing more than an Mpeg saved on a CD. You can take a video and encode it into an Mpeg at a variety of levels of quality. When it's encoded at a specific bitrate/setting, it will play in VCD players.

You'll probabbly pay an arm and leg to have something like that professionally converted. I had the Undertaker converted from Pal to NTSC years ago, and was charged per minute. It cost me like 60 bucks to have it converted. Encoding a large video usually takes a long time, so I dont know how they would charge for something like that.

See if you can find a friend who has a faster computer, and would be willing to convert those WMV files over to a VCD friendly MPEG for you. Or output the whole CD to VHS for you. Then save your original CD for when you get a faster computer down the road.

For playing the files on your PC:

http://www.videolan.org/

http://sourceforge.net/pr...e_id=84358

http://www.daemon-tools.c...portal.php

one or all of these should be able to help you out.
