![]() Have you ever seen "Winged Migration"??...Both of these photos remind me of that movie...some extraordinary visuals, beaches literally covered with hundreds of birds all landing and taking off simultaneously.

Ok...this is Pointe Pelee in Ontario, Canada...it's one of my favorite places of all time Just over 50 km (30 miles) south-east of Windsor, Ontario, lies the most southern point on the Canadian mainland – Point Pelee National Park of Canada. This tiny green oasis is internationally known for its spring and fall migration of birds and its stunning autumn monarch butterfly migration. Famous vistas such as the "Tip" and Marsh Boardwalk provide people of all ages with unlimited opportunities to discover nature. As you pass through the Park gates, you are arriving at the southernmost tip of Canada's mainland, which is at the same latitude as northern California. Much of the Park's unique character is due to this southern location. Canada's Deep South offers an unrivalled collection of plants and animals in a wide range of habitats. Point Pelee is one of Canada's smallest national parks, and yet this tiny oasis of green attracts nearly 400 000 visitors each year. Our greatest challenge is bringing people and the environment together. From picnic areas to the Visitor Centre, all facilities and services are designed to preserve the Park's natural environment. ![]() That is beautiful! What did you do Peter... threaten the poor helpless swan if it did not pose as perfect as it did. You threatened to wring his neck... I bet you did.

Beautiful pictures... I personally gain inner strength while being near the ocean or any large bodies of water. I will literally drive to it... fly to it... just to meditate near and within it.
The first thing to do is...
A family (I did not know)... although I just had to ask for a picture.
One must relax under a cabana like umbrella... simply relaxing and listening/smelling/feeling the life sounds of oceans surroundings.
I absolutely love this picture... well the man to be exact. He was so full of life and pride as he came to us with his beautiful artistic work. I had to buy one of course.
Rocky Point Sunset...

(But I *if* I had the chance to bend his neck I would have choosen the same S curve as the swan shows on the pic...) The real story is: I was setting up my camera to photograph in the other direction. It was not just a snapshot.... I had everthing ready to start shooting - the mini tripod, angle finder, cable release, mirror-lockup, filter, exposure, focus, ... when I recognized the swan behind me. What now? The swan got curious and was coming closer. So I decided to "destroy" the whole setup and make the camera ready for a quick swan snapshot. I popped up the little internal flash, set the automatic exposure to -1, disabled mirror-lockup and switched to autofocus and set the right focus point (I left the Y/B Pol filter). Still kneeing I took a series of photos but this very first one was the keeper! Later I straightened the horizon in Photoshop. Looking just at the final photo it appears as I was strolling through a wonderland... - Peter -
