"JOEY" what did you think? I enjoyed last night's premiere - Matt LeBlanc still cracks me up...and I think he has good chemistry with Drea MAtteo. the only thing I would do is get rid of JEnnifer Coolidege as his agent...she just doesn't fit on this show! GO back to being "Stifler's mom!" Let the rain come down...17 days....

I enjoyed the show a lot. I liked the interactions between the main characters. The only character I didn't really like was 'the neighbor'. I liked the minimal Friends references. I thought it was enough to properly address that connection, but not so much that it felt like a Friends Revisited. All in all, a good start, IMO.
ps- PURPLE GYPSY: you are BLASPHEMOUS! Jennifer Coolidge is AWESOME! She's my favorite character in both "Best In Show" and "A Mighty Wind". It's funny cos when I think of her I think of those characters, followed by her character from Legally Blonde. I always forget she was "Stiffler's mom"....I will admit though, they could use her better than they did. The accent was a bit weird. Hopefully they will make better use of her in future shows.

you said it, sister. as a rule, i hate 'the neighbor'. except the crackheadish neighbor in Friday - "Craig. I need to borrow y'alls microwave right quick."

I thought this was to Joey here, like a question about what he was thinking at a particular time. My answer was

I never said she wasn't good in the movies she's done...don't put words in my mouth! (Best in SHow was awesome!) but this character on JOEY doesn't do anything for her except make her look annoying! [Edited 9/10/04 7:30am] silly kitty I was more surprised to see you call her "stiffler's mom" And I do agree she wasn't used very well. I'm just hoping that'll improve with some time on the show. Joey could always fire her and get Parker Posey for an agent. I think that'd rock

'Joey' Finds Many New Friends in TV Debut
24 minutes ago Add Entertainment - Reuters TV to My Yahoo! LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actor Matt LeBlanc found millions of new pals as his television show, "Joey," won strong viewership for the NBC network, which hopes the spinoff will help rebuild its Thursday night lineup after the departure of longtime hit "Friends." NBC said on Friday that "Joey," in which LeBlanc reprises his role as lovable actor Joey Tribbiani from "Friends," pulled in 18.6 million viewers overall when it aired in the 8 p.m. time slot of its predecessor. Among adults 18 to 49 years old, an audience advertisers covet for its spending power and a core target for "Friends," "Joey" was the No. 1 show with a 7.5 rating, compared with the 3.3 for ABC's pregame pro football telecast, NBC said, citing early figures from audience tracker Nielsen Media Research. Each rating point represents 1.3 million viewers in that age group, according to an NBC spokesman. "Joey" earned the highest rating in 14 years among 18 to 49 year olds for the premiere night of an 8 p.m. comedy on NBC. "Friends" was long an anchor of the Thursday night comedy lineup and was a lucrative show for the network. Following "Joey," which NBC promoted heavily during its coverage of the Athens Olympics, the network also debuted the new season of the Donald Trump reality show, "The Apprentice," which earned a 6.6 rating in the 18-to-49-year-old group and averaged 14.1 million viewers overall. NBC is a division of the NBC Universal media wing of conglomerate General Electric Co. [Edited 9/10/04 13:44pm] Let the rain come down...17 days....

Joey? Love her! ...oh, that guy. I liked it enough. I guess I'm just hoping it doesn't go the way of other spin-offs and head downhill or the way of some other shows by the same producers-anybody remember "Jessie" (Christina Applegate)? Of course it had huge ratings on the premiere cause everyone wants to see it start, but time will tell how long it'll hold up. It's not like there's been any other failed spin-offs:

I didn't mind it, but I can't really see it being a huge success.
