Why am I starting to hate this Purple Dinosaur called Barney?

I'm beginning to feel like this is some clever marketing skim targeted at parents and kids by some PH.D.

Why you watching Barney if you hate the Purple Dinosaur with a human inside??

The kids don't act like them selves. They smile too much and they seem to be on drugs (so happy go lucky).

how can kids smile TOO much neutral

ok they are a little TOO happy i admit, but wouldn't you be, your earning enough money while at primary school to keep you in drugs all the way through your teenage years

what more could a child want

Thanks CC.... 2 years & 3 months old; she wants to do two things: play chase in the front yard & watch Barney.

Thankfully, she has started asking for us to play her Baby Einstein DVD's again, so maybe she is growing tired of the purple guy as well.....

Ugh... I've disliked this "thing" for years! Thankfully, my kids never missed it because they didn't know it existed and, when they learned of it, thankfully they were too old to want anything to do with it.

TRUE STORY*
My son, who's 9 now, LOVED Barney when he was 2 / 3 yrs old...we knew all
the songs by heart (they are catchy!)...I devoted an entire VHS tape to Barney programs,
which we watched over and over...
My daughter is 2 yrs younger, she never got into Barney (thankfully)...one day she was
looking for something new to watch, and I suggested that Barney tape (who?).
We watched the first episode, and tears welled up in my eyes!...just watching it got
me thinking of my son, how much he loved it, and how I missed those times...
I was just a wreck, had to get out of the room and cried like a baby in the other room.

Please don't dismiss Barney...he'll keep you in touch with your feelings down the road. lol
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
