Comforts and peace in reminiscing... what brings you the most peace? For me...
Driving back home on familiar roads I have driven a million times or more...remembering the endless days of my life riding my bike, playing with friends, being adventurous down this beautiful area and being surrounded by mountains galore. I can't stand it... it's so beautiful. Home I find peace and comfort in reminiscing... while I often go back to the very place I spent so many years of my life... developing... growing within the very soul I am today. The Divide (just outside Superior Arizona, where U-Turn the movie was filmed) This location seems to divide the surrounding moutains and small nearby towns from the basin area in which our small community exists. Where I grew up... the resident areas are literally surrounded by moutains all around, right in the middle of all this beautiful nature is where a little town called Kearny exists. I actually grew up just outside Kearny in an area called Riverside, Arizona. Riverside, Arizona The very road I played on... rode my bike down... ran with friends before jumping into the nearby river and caught snakes or various reptiles. We ruled the land. Look at all those trees on each side of the road... perfect fort making territory with unexpected little guests. (you name it) A picture I just took this past Monday... from the porch of my aunt and uncles home. Yes... all those mountians... I was so fortunate to wake-up to every morning as a child and simply set foot to climb or explore within them. It's no wonder why I love nature so much... it's my spiritual religion. What brings you comfort and peace? Share personal words or if you obtain an actual image... please share. I am stepping away for a bit, although I will definitely return. ~Beautiful day everyone.

This one of yours:
Reminds me of one I just took recently: I don't have photos of where I grew up...ironically enough, I was telling Summerdawn yesterday about Reston, Virginia, where I grew up...how much I love that place, the hills, all the trees, the serenity contained there...all the paths that wind thru the woods...

i find creating gives me peace, because what i create comes from someplace deep,i find the most comfort and peace is when i sleep there's just something so wonderful about drifting off into someplace else and being away from this plane.

FRIENDS
And I am all alone. There is no one here beside me. And my problems have all gone. There is no one to deride me. But you got to have friends. The feeling's oh so strong. You got to have friends to make that day last long. I had some firends but they're gone, somethin' came and took them away. And from the dusk 'til the dawn here is where I'll stay. Standing at the end of the road, boys, waiting for my new friends to come. I don't care if I'm hungry or poor, I'm gonna get me some of them. 'Cause you got to have friends. Da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, friends. That's right you, oh you, yeah you, I said you gotta have some friends, I'm talkin' about friends, that's right, friends. Friends, friends, friends. I had some firends, oh, but they're all gone, gone, someone came and snatched them away. And from the dusk until the very dawn, you know, here is where I gotta stay, here is where I gotta stay. And I'm standing at the end of a real long road and I'm waiting for my new friends to come. I don't care if I'm hungry or freezin' cold, I'm gonna get me some of them. 'Cause you gotta have friends, that's right, friends, friends. I gotta me my, I gotta me my, I gotta me my, look around and see all of my friends. Oh, friends, that's right, friends, friends, friends, friends, friends, friends, oh, friends, you gotta have friends . . . http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista

Most nights, my son Daniel who's autistic doesn't sleep. But those nights when he does are the most peaceful times for me.

Just feeling that eventual peace that comes with not having to focus so intensly on anything or anyone, huh?...That has to give your mind and body a feeling of rest, I imagine..

Sitting under a hot shower, breathing deeply, eyes closed listening to the waterdrops falling on my head (sometimes close my ears to hear it from the inside) thinking about nothing....
Try it! Shower meditation.. You don't scare me; i got kids

Watching the stars & the full moon thru my window,
having my headphones on,playing the keyboard & getting inspiration 2 create. It's like a feeling beeing all alone in the universe cuz U're the only 1 that can hear it,so it's like creating your own soundscape. Moments like that is the best as I feel no everyday stress whatsoever. Kinda like a natural high. /peace Manki

When I was a kid, I used to ride my bike with my friends to Lake Anne center...we'd have about $3.00 in our pockets and it would be enough to last us the entire day here..lol We'd buy candy, chips, (I'd buy, yes, a Coke...but it would be in a glass bottle, not a can)...we'd ride our bikes all around the center, climb on the concrete play structures (which now seem rather dangerous and stupid..lol..if you fell, it would have been instant injury)...sit by the lake, occasionally fish (it's the location of my first, last and ONLY fishing experience...which started off with me stepping in dog doo and having about 2 dozen bees sting my ankle...whoo hoo!), ride the paddle boats that were for rent there...many a summer day was wasted at this place.
I can still go back there to this day, and be instantly transported back to being a 9 year old, excited about my "day away" spent here..

Try it! Shower meditation.. I so do this faithfully two to three times a day... "Dissolving your ideas, your habits, and your images is a way to cleanse and purify. All the many assumptions that keep your life fixed break apart as you take time to reflect and have serious talks with people who matter most in your life. The alchemists referred to this phase as solutio, putting all the hard stuff in the waters of reflection, where it breaks apart, shows itself for what it is, and gives you the opportunity for a fresh start. This solution, which can be any method of dislodging the pieces of your life for reflection, is like baptismal water. It takes you out of a world of pragmatism and cynicism and restores a less jaded viewpoint. The cleansing reinstates a level of innocence and impressionability. Clearing away the debris allows life to flow, with all the grace of beginning." Ordinary bathing/showering can be an effective ritual for clarifying your emotions and thoughts. You may sit in a tub or stand in the shower as your thoughts sort themselves out.

The most relaxing, peaceful vacation I've ever taken was here:
Where we slept... Where we had our vocal seminar... Where I relaxed on the lawn and enjoyed the view... A beautiful tree in the garden... I LOVE mountains and trees...

Beautiful hugs your way... as well as hopeful wishes for more peaceful nights, for you both. How old is your son?
