My cousin has done it for 2 years, she lived in Ohio and he lived in LA. She has finished college and is now moving out there to be with him.

She could have moved out there sooner possibly but she wasnt going to let her education go, she waited and now they are to be married, she leaves Sat, I am happy and sad at the same time we have been close for years but this is the best thing.

So yes its possible, its just hard

I think it depends on age, maturity and whether its real love.

I met my girlfriend one summer while she was visiting Britain for about a week and then she went back to Stockholm Sweden. She came back over for a couple of visits and within 6 months Id moved over to Stockholm to live.

We're still together now after 6 years.

Ok, here's my story in a nutshell:

2000 - met future wife in Thailand - were friends

2001 - year apart, emailing, grew closer - hooked up when I came back to see her after almost exactly one year

Apart again for 4 months on, 4 months off for nearly 2 years. Me in UK, her in Thailand.

Tehn spent 1 and a half years out there living together until last month when I came back to the uk for a holiday. Been 'together' for over 3 years now.

Had to tell my story again, sorry.

I had a long distance relationship with a girl when I was at University. I was up in Manchester whilst she was in Coventry. We saw each other every other week and to be honest it was quite heartbreaking. I think that's what drove us apart to some extent. Because we didn't get to see enough of each other, we took that frustration out on each other. Particularly on the phone which in all honesty isn't a good way to conduct a relationship in my opinion. It would really take someone special for me to muster the energy to have another long distance relationship after that. But as the saying goes, 'never say never'.

An earlier girlfriend went off to uni and we only lasted about another 5 months.
