Can't we all just get along? If at all possible, encounter a tree. It is unique, beautiful, solid, flexible-and very much alive. It has no prejudices or opinions. It knows no terror. It takes root, and holds down the very soil. It draws water from the earth. It fashions a leafy canopy, sun-drenched above and shady below. It breathes. It is beautiful to behold. It harbors and shelters many different life forms. It's sap flows. It bears fruit in it's season. After benefiting it's environment, it returns solidly to it's origins. Can any human aspire to more?

It's not the human nature to get along, the human nature is to conquer by whichever means available. Unfortunately.

I took this picture last week... it's a tree that I have passed a lifetime driving down the very road in which I grew up as a child. What drew me to take a picture... a picture of this tree... when there were hundreds before it and many more hundred to follow...
Simply the beauty/power that it entails... the power of the moment and all elements that surrounded/consumed me totally. For within the physical sense... there is so much more within what we can't visually see, although beautifully know. ~Smile. It's my life ambitions/spiritual beliefs to live in this manner... with all that transpires each blessed day. Unity... and peace with all that I encounter. It's true.

Hi Freespirit, how are you? Your picture is magical
Sorry JD, but back to the topic: I look at science and technology and see the most amazing feats achieved, but it seems that as a group of people we're 'just not up to it'. The best intentions of the most amazing minds can't help what seems to be an inevitable path of problems, issues, and destruction. Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.

I don't want to get along with everyone. I want dumbass people to leave me the fuck alone, but apparently they can't even do that.

Woh! Personally i feel it's up to each individual to TRY to be open minded and be receptive to each other as far as conflict. If you believe that this harmony is not possible, which constantly we see around us in world Politics, then we're doomed.I'd like to think in what others will probably see as a naive attitude, looking at the previous posts; that if we all try in ourselves to be less conflicting things will come into accord.Technology is constantly moving us away from nature, but also we have greater power these days to implement social harmony through broad activities such as charity and social support groups. In the end it's up to individuals to be big enough to resolve amicably their problems with each other, it's our choice. The reality of losing our natural heritage is with us every day.We do have free thought, and the birthright to engage in maintaining our environment, health & moral standards.Sounds like a load of Hippy crap, but we've gotta at least try.Saying it's Human Nature to dominate each other is true to an extent, i'd rather choose to be happy; look at the trees, and appreciate the wonderful world around me ~PClinuxOS~ I've been here longer than I care to remember, ... I drop in from time to time, ...

I took an air-rifle, shot a magpie to the ground & it died without a sound. Your skin so pale against the fallen Autumn leaves & no-one saw us but the trees. Yeah, the trees, those useless trees produce the air that I am breathing. Yeah, the trees, those useless trees; they never said that you were leaving. I carved your name with a heart just up above - now swollen, distorted, unrecognisable; like our love. The smell of leaf mould & the sweetness of decay are the incense at the funeral procession here, today. Yeah, the trees, those useless trees produce the air that I am breathing. Yeah, the trees, those useless trees; they never said that you were leaving. You try to shape the world to what you want the world to be. Carving your name a thousand times won't bring you back to me. Oh no, no I might as well go & tell it to the trees. Go & tell it to the trees, yeah Go & tell it to the trees, yeah...
