The opening ceremony was amazing. I loved the sculptures that tumbled apart in slow motion and had to cry when they started playing Maria Callas. The blue guy (Eros) was beautiful. I think the person who choreagraphed that sequence should get a gold medal! PS I thought the blue in the fake paper boat was a bit over sentimental and tacky. Eros was amazing! Also, I thought the Centaur was so cool!

I just caught my first visual on the High Bar... individual Vlasios Maros (?) just did an incredible routine. I found myself clapping literally outloud when he struck it solid. It truly is amazing some of the abilities seen, the determination displayed and the heartache felt when a single second can destroy a single dream. It's exhilarating, I feel. I have not watched the Olympics for years.

WOW!!  I missed everything except the last woman w/ the lit up pregnant stomach walkign into the water & all the countries being introduced. Then I went to sleep, never saw Bjork.
