Taking Kids To A Concert... Yay or Nay I want to take my two kids to see Heart (I know, I know) on Monday night. They're those free tickets to Pine Knob...
What are your thoughts on this... do you think it'd be okay to do. It's only Heart... and it's a Monday night concert... we're not going to get seats, just sit on the lawn. I just figured they'd dig it, seeing a band play live and thought that Heart would be "safe". Am I out of my mind or is there nothing wrong with this? My kids are six and seven...

I took my 9 year old son to see Prince this year, and he had the time of his life.....
If they like music, and no school in the morning, take em, let them enjoy life... and Hi right back to you.... [This message was edited Fri Aug 13 13:29:21 2004 by jerseykrs]

As long as there's nothing offensive, why not?
My 9 yr old son had the time of his life at the 2 Prince concerts I took him to this year. Ear plugs are a good idea if you're gonna be close... Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Ear plugs are definitely a good idea since children have a lower db tolerance than adults. [This message was edited Fri Aug 13 13:34:04 2004 by axestream]

Sure! Why not?
My first concert was the janet. show when I was 9, and it's one of my favorite memories.

Then it's a done deal, the kids and I and a blanket! Never gave ear plugs a thought... so going to pick those up this weekend! It's been soooo long since I've been to a concert that was "kid friendly", so I wasn't sure if people would look at me like a bad mother or not for taking them.
Now I gotta go get ready to pour drinks tonight. I really, really, really don't wanna go and do this, but I committed to it and now I'm wondering what in the hell I was thinking. *sigh* Probably had something to do with wanting some extra money... lol Have a good night all... and enjoy your weekend!

Prince encourages kids to come to his Musicology shows. They even have a better chance of getting on stage than the adult males since men were not let up after about the 3rd Staples shows .. To Sir, with Love

Da first concert I ever went to was in November 1987 for Michael Jackson's "BAD" concert at da MCG here in Melbournez!! My cousin (who was in da same grade as me in school) and I were collected from school early on da Friday afternoon as I recall for da event!!! I was seven at da time, and OMG so obssessed wif MJ...i was like havin some major fightz at school wif friendz...over who was gonna marry him omg...yeah, most of my family went..including my nana actually both my nanas were there ...and even my cousin, who was 3 at da time!!! What a buzz!! Aint nothin wrong wif goin to a concert no matter what age if they've got music in their heart n soul, they should have da oppurtunity to experience it live!! No hablo espanol,no!
Pero hablo ingles..ssii muy muy bien... "Come into my world..." Missy Quote of da Month: "yeah, sure, that's cool...wait WHAT?! "

I took mine and she made it onstage. She'll never be the same. "Pedro offers you his protection."
