Please help me identify......

Oh my word –

You will not believe what happen today. I have 2 love birds – which when the weather if nice I put outside on my picnic table (in the cage) for them to enjoy the sun. So I put them out today and was going about doing things around the house – when I heard them making a lot of noise. So I went to check on them and on top of their cage trying to get at them is this huge Bird of Prey – oh my word it scared the hell out of me.

So out I run with a purse in hand to scare the thing away – it just looked at me like I was nuts and lunged toward me. So I ran back into the house thinking now what do I do. So I grabbed the broom and out I went again. I whacked the broom down next to the thing and it flew just a few feet from the cage of screaming birds to perch on my garage.

I grabbed my bird cage and ran in the house. I guess this little incident explains the lack of rabbits and mice in my yard this year and you know come to think of it I have not seen the neighbors cat this year either.

So I live in Wisconsin the bird looks like it is young with a white chest with brown speckles and brown wings – it was pretty big. Any idea what evil I have lurking in my back yard?

Well...all hawks would consider your little birdies tasty treats, you'd better keep them inside till the hawk moves on nod

BTW, where in WI are you?

Hi coco... sounds like a hawk.

They eat almost anything smaller than themselves. Snakes, small animals, obviously other birds..... If there is a lot of squirrels and small animals around, he will not be leaving anytime soon... make friends with your new neighbor.... he'll keep the riff raff out! wink
