I remember when I saw it the first time, I must've been about 14 or 15, so I used to enjoy any foreign movies for obvious reasons. Enjoyed it then though, and when I saw it a few years later I loved it.

Why be worried about political correctness? It's a great movie, and it has nothing to do with that. Douglas Sirk is one of my favorite directors. The original is very good as well.

I'm just gonna cut and paste my list from my YMDB page.
My favorite movie of all time is Nashville, and I love most of Altman's films. The rest of the films are in no order. I watch hundreds of movies a year, so there's no way I'd be able to rank them all. It's a difficult task to pick a small group of favorites, when there are so many yet to be watched! Nashville (the rest are favorites without any particular ranking) Rebecca Written on the Wind 3 Women Rear Window Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back Boyz N the Hood JFK Halloween Todo sobre mi madre (All About My Mother) Sunset Blvd. Rebel Without a Cause All About Eve Viskningar och rop (Cries & Whispers) Wild at Heart The Color Purple Welcome to the Dollhouse Magnolia Hotaru no haka (Grave of the Fireflies) The Grifters Do the Right Think The Lady Eve My favorite movie in the past couple of years is Far from Heaven. Brilliant movie!
