[Poll] fantasy or reality?

which do you prefer?

for me, the reality seems to be a let down. the fantasy is far more dreamy and so...

i say "fantasy".

But isn't reality a let-down because of fantasy?

i think you are correct.

i think i'd rather dream of the ideal situation, person, whatever, than be smacked in the face with the imperfection of it all.

honestly, it depends on what the fantasy is. if it's about something illegal or immoral then (generally) it's probably best left as a fantasy. if it's sexual, then who knows until reality happens. if it's about doing cartwheels on a bed of red-hot spikes drenched in salt, then again, probably stick with fantasy.

But if you go into it realizing and accepting that the perfect person does not exist, it makes it much easier to work with and around someone's flaws when you face the fact that they are gonna have em. nod

objective. things get more complicated when one gets subjective about fantasy.

this isn't going to please you, but my gut says "well buddy, it really depends on the fantasy". neutral

but it's the nature of fantasy that you want to move to reality, even if often you don't because you're either too scared, or you're worried it will be disappointing and ruin the fantasy. different people will embrace the reality differently. me included, depending on the fantasy. so i can't give a black and white answer, i'm afraid.

infuriating, aren't i? smile
