Ex-Moderator | I once lived an entire summer on ramen and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that I purchased with the money I made form selling my plasma. Oh to be young again. |

when i first moved into my apartment, ramen noodles were like the main staple of my diet...now i can't even look at a package of those damned things without shuddering. i was at target today and they had 'em on display, for like $1 a pack.
i felt like runnin outta the store and screamin down the skyway.

not tryin' to get off-topic, but how much do they pay you for plasma? I'm honestly thinking about doing it this semester. And does it hurt? Four strings across the bridge. Ready to carry me over,Over the quavers, drunk in the bars,Out of the realm of the orchestra

not tryin' to get off-topic, but how much do they pay you for plasma? I'm honestly thinking about doing it this semester. And does it hurt? Gosh, this was about 8 years ago (eek! am I that old?) and the pay scale was weird. It was like $50 the first time you came in, then maybe $25 the next time and if you gave the maximum # of times they will let you, the last time of the month it would be like $75. I imagine it'd be more now a days. You could only donate twice in 7-10 days and maybe only 4-6 times a month. Something like that. It doesn't hurt, other than the initial sticking with the needle. But when you're done, they put saline back into your veins to replace the plasma. And since it's room temperature, it feels like a wierd cold tingle going all up and down your arm. If you choose to do it, I'll just say drink lots and lots of liquids the 24 hours before and after and be sure to eat a good healthy meal after too. |

I was really poor as a kid and Ramen was all three meals. We used to eat the noodles raw. they actually tasted better that way-- better than popcorn.
