Best Surprise Movie Endings After hearing about "The Village" and it's eyeroll-enducing ending, I thought I'd see what movies really do deliver the goods when it comes to giving a decent, mind-bending, "Holy stinkin' cumquats" type of ending...
By the way, "Holy Stinkin' Cumquats"=Copyright Byron, 2003 My list: The Usual Suspects (Watching Kevin Spacey literally transform at the end brought a smile to my face) The Taking Of Pehlam One Two Three (Martin Balsam almost gets away with it...almost) Frailty (Ok, so maybe Dad wasn't so crazy afterall) Arlington Road (I sincerely did NOT see that coming) Donnie Darko (Well, not quite a "surprise" ending...but an extremely memorable one just the same) La Jetee' (That one freaked me out for weeks...didn't see that one coming either) Worst? Wild Things Any others?

Byron!!!!!
one of the biggest 'holy smoking cumquats!' endings I've ever seen was in the 6th sense...I didn't see that coming at all! there are others but that's the one that came to mind first...

I ask such a question... for I just drove through a town called Byron, Illinois today.
Good Night! Sitting in front of this computer just does not appeal to me whatsoever. Plus... I know nothing about movies lately.

Dancer in the Dark - Every time I watch this again, I expect the last minute or two to be radically different than how I know it's gonna turn out.
Maybe that's why I haven't watched it more times than I have...

Loved "The Sixth Sense". There's an insightful article (at MSN.com?) about M. Night Shamaylan and how since he's discovered the formula to what makes a good movie he's working it to death. Now it just seems played.
Someone recently recommended "The Usual Suspects." I need to check it out.

Well, that's not really a surprise ending since the surprise happens midway thru the movie... But it's a helluva suprise nonetheless..lol

A friend of mine gave away the Crying Game's surprise. But, I kept thinking how I wouldn't have been surprised at all if she hadn't told me. I live in NY. I see this on the subway every day.

You know what ol' Jack Burton always says. When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, looks you crooked in the eye and asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail.
