Any David Sedaris fans here?

I have just recently become a fan of his. I've heard some of his radio stuff, and I just read "Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim". Fucking hilarious. nod

There were parts of that book that I literally got into laughing fits laying in bed reading, where I had tears streaming down my face from laughing. I couldn't stop for 15 minutes. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard from just reading something before.

That, plus when you read his stuff, you have to imagine his voice doing the talking which makes it even funnier. lol

I want to get all his previous books now as well. thumbs up!

I think "Barrel Fever" is hilarious and "Naked" is simply transcendent - I can kinda take or leave his last two books...I pray at the alter of his sister, however. love

He's great - a friend gave me audio tapes of Sedaris first couple books that he recorded himself. I haven't seen him in person - but I hear he's very entertaining.

Love David. Just passed on Barrel Fever to My Sis-in-Law.

But Amy makes me damp as a cellar down there ...all mildewy. But I suppose my avatar tells the whole story! ANd wat is so great about her is that you can't call her a comedian or an actress or anything like that. Art and Performance for art and performance sake. Gotta love that!

Awaiting for the movie...can not come too soon.

If you do...be sure to get the audio books as companions they are hilarious. Amy does their brother "The Rooster".

Definitely get the first two.

I have them all and have read them all and LOOOOOVE them all. For me, "Me Talk Pretty One Day" is the best, with "Naked" a close second. I thought the new one was excellent but I didn't pee on myself laughing like I did with the other ones.

This is going to strike some of you as odd, but I actually use the story "Big Boy" from "Me Talk Pretty" with my creative writing students when we start our personal narrative unit. For those of you that know the story, it's not really a conventional choice...kinda risky, actually. But as you can imagine, the high school kids LOVE it!!!!

I know good times...

It's a Prequel. She is just getting out of the slammer...and that means that Daddy will be alive...thank goodness! They just wrapped up the school filming. If you lived in the NY/NJ area you could have been an extra.

lol loved that part... him being in his underwear eating the hammered and previously frozen trash chicken.

actually, as you read the earlier stuff, you will see that paul is not so much a dick, as just an insane macho gangsta-rap lovin hick. he's probably my favorite of the siblings
