My Saturday night! last night was a nice change from the usual Saturday night dullsville. i went to a my friend Stella's house and had a nice little meal with a few other people and we had the best discussion. we talked about politics, fire fighters, music, planes and some other stuff. then around 10:30, there was lightening in the sky and since my Stella lives near the sea, i said," why don't we go look at the lightening from the beach". anyway, we walked down to the beach, cracking jokes about Mel Brooks and his films and then stripped down to our skin and jumped in. the water was so nice, a bit rough but great just the same.
then we sat on the beach watching the waves and lightening and i felt so peaceful. then they started reciting poems and singing songs into the wind. it was great! then Stella and Laurel decided to bury me in beach sand while i was sitting on a rock. they had me up to my chest in beach sand. then it was a walk back to Stella's cottage and a shower and then i fell asleep on the sofa. that's what Saturday night should be sometimes. I'm about to shake my doo loose! - Prince

Ex-Moderator | That sounds divine.
My Saturday night was spent with a group of about 10 friends that walked down to river to watch The Big Ooh Ahh, which is an annual fireworks display to celebrate the end of the Minneapolis Aquatenniel. I've heard tell it's been rated as the 3rd best fireworks display in the world. We wended our way to a cute little area on the river with cobblestone streets and a few cute little restarants and parked ourselves on the ground and shared some cocktails out of sippy-cups. The display was truly amazing, lasting nearly 30 minutes and appearing almost directly above our heads. When the really loud ones went off you could feel the ground shake and feel it in your chest like the booming bass when you're hugging a speaker at a show. Then I went to a friend's house and just sat around and chatted for a few hours, sipping cocktails made of infused vodkas and pomegranate juice and such things. It was a nice night. |

My saturdaynight was spent building Lego's, downloading a Lego building program that doesn't work and chatting on the net with Adam, an ex co-worker from my previous job in Paris.
And my nephew of 12 years old, who is staying over is digging my comics (or rather my European graphic novels) and we were discussing them until I shipped him off to bed. And tonight will be the same, I'm sure.
