What side of Houston, do you know?? It makes all the difference, being one HUGE friggin city!! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

JEDI come to my rescue Okay, Magnolia is north of town about an hour or so from where I live. I go out there at least once a year for the Renaissance Festival. The closest area to you would be Conroe or the Woodlands. There are lots of groovy resteraunts in the Woodlands, although its more of a suburban, corporate type of place. If you want to see the real deal, you'll have to head into town. Downtown is pretty hoppin' these days, with lots of clubs, bars and live music venues. Not far from there is the Montrose area, which is the more artsy, alternative side. Westheimer street cuts through the Montrose, all the way out to the Northwest side (its a friggin' long street). It does run through the Galleria area (which is the mall that Heiress is referring to. If you enjoy shopping then this is the place to be). The whole area around the Galleria is pretty much the hoity toity shops and restaraunts. Lots of cool stuff. Of course, I don't know all of your interests, but it isn't hard to find something to do in a city this size. Movies? We've got a TON of theaters, including several art-houses. Theater? The downtown theater district is absolutley incredible! Museums? There are quite a few (the museum of natural science, in Hermann Park, is my favorite. The Burke-Baker Planetarium inside the museum has an incredible Pink Floyd show on Fridays and Saturdays (and its not the old laser shows you're used to. Its the entire Dark Side Of The Moon album, done with computer graphics). Food? Oh man! What are you hungry for?? Shopping? Aside from the Galleria, there is the Rice Village area (near Hermann Park, in fact), as well as lots of nifty shops around the Montrose. So there you have it! When are you suppossed to be down?? You can check The Houston Press (the local "alternative" paper) website for event listings, as well as the Houston Chronicle. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Straight from G.W himself... PLENTY of Texans can't stand that twit! Gas is cheap in cartain places, not so much in others. San Antonio has it dirt cheap, but its moderate in places like Houston and Dallas.
