Have u ever met someone who had killed or raped someone ? I actually had one of my best friends admitting 2 me that when she was 15, her & her 4mer boyfriend had killed the MF who had raped her (if u wanna know the boyfriend was 10 years older than her & had a gun, she was 18 when she told me the story). I still c her from time 2 time & i know she ain't (nor was) the kinda person 2 tell lies, particularly on serious shit like that. The girl is really a good person & one can understand u wanna kill a guy who just raped u, but it really made me shudder when she told me that. We never mentioned it again after this conversation (it was 10 years ago).
I also talked once 2 a guy who had been in the anti-terrorist units in Algeria b4 he came 2 France. He told me he quit because all the violence was getting him insane, but that "when u c ur partners hit in the head by a bullet during an attack, u just don't care about killing & shoot as much of the enemy as u can". He was looking so sad. It was less weird 2 me, though, cuz he wasn't a friend or someone i knew b4. I never actually knew someone who admitted he had raped a girl, but considering how many women get raped, i'm sure i met many rapists without ever knowing. But, 2 come back 2 the question, have u ever met some one whom u knew, or who told u, he/she had killed or raped somebody, & what did u feel then, how did u react, etc...? [As some have stated below, i used the expression "2 b thrilled" instead of "2 b shuddered" which was what i meant, i there4 corrected this, & i apologize 2 the people i might have shocked 4 my unperfect english] [This message was edited Tue Jul 20 9:01:49 2004 by shaomi]

Moderator | Yes, ... both ... it's scary. Very scary.
You don't realize that the "darker" side of human nature is a real thing. We have all become desensitized...murder, rape, incredible violence is something we all associate with TV, movies, Video games. To have "it" standing right in front of you, breathing, talking... It makes you realize how fragile our lives are. It is at once humbling and terrifying. In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

It thrilled me less, though, cuz he wasn't a friend or someone i knew b4.
I don't know how I feel about being "thrilled" that somebody had killed somebody else, even if you do feel it was justified. I mean, like, where is the sun?

It THRILLED you? You sound pretty sick yourself! Well, u guys got me doubting my english, but as far as my dictionnary says, 2 "thrill" doesn't necessary means it's a positive sensation. Still, 2 make it clear, know that by "thrilled", i meant "shivered", "shocked", anything but a positive feeling. I thank u all 4 saying ur story, but what's sad is that most of u say "yes, i knew someone", but don't say what it DID 2 u. Peace anyway. http://shaomi-web.blogspot.com

Thrill usually means for most people "very excited or extremely happy" so glad to hear that wasn't the case. Do I know anyone that's killed/raped someone? No on the rape subject thankfully, but I have a friend that you never know with when it comes to the kill subject...

Ok, try to understand this if u will. We live next door to my wife's rapist. He's her uncle. She was only very, very young when it happened. Suffice to say, it's a little strange and at one time I did want to kill him. But, we don't see him much as he's basically an invalid and I think he's paying for what he did. I found it hard to understand at first how my wife could stay here, but basically she wants to show that he hasn't damaged her life. Her parents don't know, which is something I have mixed feelings about, but they rarely go round there anyway. This family tends to stay here in this house. And I suppose that's the thing. I don't think they would ever want to move and couldn't afford to. Things could get really ugly if her parents did find out so maybe it's better this way. I don't think about it much day to day to be honest, even when I see him. Mon has been able to beat him and it's remarkable how strong a person she is, so I don't feel any need to bring it all back. She's even able to talk to him, although obviously she doesn't start conversations with him. I know she doesn't want to cause her parents problems so she hasn't told them and wants to stay here and beat it. I don't know what goes through her mind every second and she may still have a lot of pain from what happened but she is very strong. She has in past broken down, of course. I helped her get through it then and now I've learnt to accept her decision to stay here and basically wait for him to die, him knowing she wasn't scared and wouldn't let him ruin her life. She is a remarkable young woman.

Rape was part of growing up in my neighbourhood when i was growing up. about 7 Guys would take a girl 2 a derilect house on Margate road near brixton south london and gang rape her they called it 'running a battery' ...i knew all about it and was even in the other room once when the battery was happening, it was so normal then that it took years 4 me 2 be disgusted by it.
Most girls i knew who grew up in brixton and peckham had been raped @ least once, fuckin' shame but true..

I've met both the guys who raped my Ex and it was very hard to prevent myself from punching their lights out, coz that stuff is so wrong. I used to work with one guy, and the other was related, and I had to live with him for 6 months too Not a pleasent time at all. She did not want me to say or do anything, which I had to respect, although I would rather not have.
He knew the score, coz I was very different to their family, and he was always very cautious around me. I would have dealt with it differently if I could have, but it was not my place too. It effected my Ex greatly, and goes some way to explaining some of the issues we had. Mada, Yeah thats me. AND WHAT

yes i used to work in a shop when i was 14 and was left alone with a man who turned out to be convicted several times of rape and gbh. fortunately for me the men who ran the taxi place knew what he was like and they all threw him out of the shop before he tried anything.
