Anais Nin Who was it that had an Anais Nin quote in their sig a while back? Azure? Panthagirl? Babycakes?
There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. When I saw that in your sig, I understood it, but I had never experienced feeling like that. Then, yesterday I was feeling kinda weird about certain things and I remembered this quote for some reason and it clicked! In relationships, I've ALWAYS let others decide things for me. I always let my power go and felt like a victim of circumstance. But this time, staying the same was unsettling, and the fear of the unknown wasn't as bad. The familiar no longer serves my higher purpose. So anyway, I think I have an Anais Nin book somewhere... I got it through a book club long ago and never read it. Anybody read her books and have recommendations? I LOVE the movie Henry & June, but I haven't seen Delta of Venus.

I Have her Erotica...Little Birds...Delta Of Venus....Henry And June was the first NC-17 but wasn't all that great a movie with Uma. Could have been even STEAMIER...Not ENOUGH about the 2 women... [This message was edited Wed Jul 21 9:25:40 2004 by Zelaira]

I'm a big fan and I have 2 of the volumes forom her unexpurgated diaries (Henry and June and Fire, I think) and a handful of her erotica. Great writer. |

I've read Henry Miller. A bio of Anais, yes, but not her diaries...
Miller is interesting to read, rather to get the "other" side of the story. Strong stuff, not for everybody...
