heat the contents of tinned spagetti in tomato, melt in some cheese...add a tiny bit of chilli powder (well i am indian ) serve on a couple slices af well done toasted buttered bread. good stuff. When I was a student this was a staple. Plus: Two packets of Tesco noodles with soy sauce on top. That's it. Tesco value pasta with peas and mayonnaise. Peanut butter on toast (8 slice minimum) Oh, happy days.

melted cheese on Ryvita in the microwave! If you sprinkle on some oregano it's even better.
Stick two on a pyrex dish and u're away. Very more-ish, you're bound to come back.

Wow - I didn't know there were so many variations of this snack!
For the record, I did try beans on toast. A British friend here made me eat it once, because I had been making fun of it so much. It was actually rather good. My version was lightly toasted white bread, heinz beans and a bit of emmenthal cheese sprinkled on top. I just think it's funny because of the remarks I've grown up hearing from other about white people and their gas problems.

i LOOOOVE Alphaghetti on toast (my nanna used to make it for me for lunch when i'd stay over at her house...brings back great memories)
for the record i'm Canadian and i eat baked beans and dip my lightly toasted and buttered brown bread in it. pretty much the same thing... you're only as old as you feel..............so how old do i feel
Now that food has replaced sex in my life, I can't even get into my own pants.

I'm really not keen on beans of any kind. It's just the texture. I'd much rather have spaghetti hoops on toast.

As a person living in britainand brought up on British food, BEANS ON TOAST IS VILE. Occassionally I will eat baked beans, but there is something about them that makes me generally heave and as for cleaning cold baked beans and their juice/waste after my kids have launched them, well that just makes me feel even worse.
Agree with applekisses, the food in the UK ain't great. Fried breakfasts, chocolate until it comes out our arse, and as many fast food eateries as US, UK people should look inward at our eating habits. I am from Portugal originally and that is a much healthier diet.

It aint where you live on the globe what counts it's what people choose to eat, and like everything else..beans on toast is ok as long as it's not all you eat..(and you don't mind the smell, the draught and the skid marks) One big reason we haven't got a great dental record is there aint enough dentists to service the laughing tackle.

'scuse me for being ignorant, but exactly what is Grits You know that's so funny cuz the other day the same question came up,but It's grinded up corn,(that's "gritty") and you boil it with water. It's hard to explain. Most ppl. eat them as a breakfast food. But you can do anything with grits....put butter, salt, pepper, sausage, bacon, cheese in them. ANything you want really. Quaker makes "instant grits". they sell it in all groceries stores. It come in different varieties too. Four strings across the bridge. These Americans. b a n a l i t y give me a double cheeseburger any day or a cheesesteak, ooh I have a cheesesteak recipe you might enjoy. Also a recipe for wonderful homemade salsa. Baked beans on toast sounds alright I suppose, but seems more like food you make when you've already run through the groceries-if any Brit orgers are lacking in recipes I'll be glad to help. I worry sometimes about you all. Is there a food embargo we should know about? We're not trying to hoard it all over here...I think.
