Calling all Ohio residents

Can someone please tell me what the former Sea World is called these days? I know it was bought out (by Six Flags ?), but they must have changed the name because I cannot find a web site for Sea World (in Ohio) at all. I promised to take my child there in 2 weeks and now I am hoping that it still exists..sigh

someone please help.

Originally there was Geauga Lake and Sea World, both right next to eachother. A few years back 6 Flags bought out Geauga Lake, and I think Sea World as well. I could be wrong on this but I think both were combined into the new 6 Flags. Recently tho, Cedar Point bought out 6 Flags and returned the name to Geauga Lake.

All points are correct Tom, and one last thing, I was just at Geauga Lake 2 weeks ago, apparently they got rid of ALL the animals. Just a busted old amusement park now

okay, so lemme get this straight...

Sea World no longer exists? You mean I can't take my son to see Shamu? fit That's all he's been talking about! How am I gonna tell a 3 year old that I have to take him elsewhere??

There's only the park now?? Really? bawl

My parents use to take us to Sea World all the time. Someone just told me the last time they went, it was about 50.00 per person to get in...disbelief

Well, I guess those animals are better off at sea or what have you. I thought it was a really great way to teach children about them..oh well..

I remember going to Sea World in Ohio all the time as a kid (I live in Detroit) and I was really sad to hear that it doesn't exist anymore sad
There IS a really cool one in Texas, though.

Texas? lol I couldn't possibly go to Texas right now. I heard there is some sort of Safari park or something in New Jersey. I read that they have zebras, lions, bears and such there. I guess they take you on a drive thru it. I'm not sure how I'd like that...I am so afraid of bears! I grew up in the hills giggle and quite often we had bears in our yard during the night. Not a fun thing to see bear tracks outside your bedroom window as a child.
Thanks though!

I've never thought about a zoo. We were so focused on Sea World...sigh I will look it up. There is a Zoo here in Pa (Pittsburgh), which is not too far from where I live. I don't think it would be as good as the Toledo Zoo. What makes it the bomb? I have never been to a zoo before and I am 36 years old! That's a shame, isn't it? It's a great idea, Apple...thank you hug

thanks you guys! We checked out the zoos that you mentioned as well as The National Zoo. Any of you been to that zoo before? We watched the live web cams and it looked a bit drab, but what wouldn't via web cam? I feel so sad about Sea World. My parents took us there every other year while I was growning up. I loved it there and now my son won't get to experience it. I know, I could take him to the Sea World in Fla or Cali, but that's just not possible at this point.
